The North Face Derby Insulated Pant - Women's - 2008

The North Face Women's Derby Insulated Pant brings the county fair demolition derby to the slopes with a spurt of attitude and the toughness of an '82 Camero. This free-fitting, bowl-slashing, cliff-dropping pant deflects water like a steel umbrella and withstands the burliest abuse you can dish out. The North Face's Chimney Venting system keeps your engine from overheating and pant-a-lock hooks allow you to lock into compatible jackets, creating a wall of power to deflect snow.

Bottom Line: Grab your pants, we're goin' to the demo Derby!

It has a thermoliner lining which is why they are called insulated pants.

Nice pants, not perfect

By:
January 9, 2009

These are nice with a traditional fit. I had wanted a different North Face pair that were unavailable (those were a lower rise, more contemporary fit). These are very traditional fit, a bit high in the waist, but still an excellent product, as all North Face is.

should I go up a size in these pants if I am planning to wear long underwear underneath?

Not unless your long underwear is an inch or so thick. They're loose enough to make room.

It is insulated, it's called the Derby insulated pant. There are two zippered hand pockets and one back pocket. Cut and paste this link if you want the non-insulated variant of this pant. http://www.backcountry.com/store/TNF3526/The-North-Face-Derby-Pant-Womens.html

Great ski pants

By:
March 26, 2009

Loved the North Face (of course) brown ski pants. They were a little high in the waist but otherwise perfect everywhere else. It was 16 degrees and blizzard conditions and they kept me very very warm and dry. Very pleased and look forward to buying more from backcountry.com. They have the best customer service I've seen anywhere!

HyVent 2L is the fabric that is being used in these pants. It is North Face's durable winter sport fabric.
