The North Face Denali Hooded Fleece Jacket - Boys'
The North Face Boys' Denali Hooded Jacket makes your boy's daily adventures into cold weather a comfortable prospect. Heavy fleece with a DWR coating, abrasion-reinforced shoulders and elbows, and a fixed hood make the Denali Hooded Jacket a great option for winter fun. The North Face added elastic-bound cuffs, a bound hem, and two hand pockets to help your lad keep warm. Boys can zip this hooded jacket into a shell from The North Face and transform into jumping balls of winter invincibility.
Note: To be kinder to the environment, The North Face now manufactures all Denali Jackets with recycled Polartec 300 fleece. Colors with an 'R' in front of the name feature recycled fleece.
Write your question here...My son is 7 and is 65pounds and 48-50 inches tall would a medium be too big? I also would like to get more than one year out of the jacket.
Hi - sounds like a small would fit him better for the time being, but it doesn't give him much room to grow into. I would probably go with the medium if he doesn't mind it being a little on the big size for a few months. Hope this helps
My son loves it and so do I. Perfect jacket for a big boy who doesn't like to be weighed down with winter coats.Keeps him warm and dry and the hood is great!
I'm torn between the M and L for my son who is 11. He is growing into a size twelve and he hates things that are too big, but I want it to last a couple of years.
Hi Megan- I would go with the large. Sounds like your son is already on the big side of our medium if he fits into a 12, so if you want any growing room go with the large. Hope this helps-
Denali jackets are the best jackets for kids and teenagers. They can wear them for three seasons. Warm not bulky. They are also very stylish and in and are the only jackets my kids want to wear. Figured a denali with a hood for my 11 year old son will be perfect. A hood will be an extra bonus this winter. Keeping it for Christmas.
I always buy the nf denali (without the hood) in an xl. when I tried the xl with a hood it was much tighter. does it run smaller, or was it mismarked? THANKS Evelyn
Great winter jacket for kids who hate bulk. The hood is perfect for kids who forget their hats or for extra cold days.My son is 70 lbs and is 51 inches tall(he is only 5 as of July)I debated the sizing.I first ordered the small but it was a no room for growth fit.I returned and ordered the M it is a bit long in the arms but I'm glad I went larger. He should get more than just one winter for the price. He also loves the pockets because they truly keeps his hands toasty.
I wanted to get this particular jacket for my 3 year old boy. Just wondering if the xxs will be way too big. He is pretty true to size age-wise and usually wears a 3t-4t in gap sizing!..Can anybody help me?
This is a great jacket. I bought it for my 3 year old. He is 34 pounds and the xxs is perfect for him. Looks nice, it is warm on 40 degree days and the hood is a great bonus. Highly recommend it.
Just got the Denali jacket in xxs for my 4.5 year old and it's perfect.
My son is pretty tall for his age. (42.5 inches, 79th percentile for his age group) Gap or Old Navy is usually what we buy but the 4 was too small and the 5 was HUGE. This jacket comes in a 4/5 and is a perfect fit (just a hair long in the sleeves which will get him into the first of next winter I predict). Yes it was a little more than what we usually pay for his coats but it's super warm in addition to being super thin. Little kids are always in car seats or boosters and a bulky coat can be very uncomfortable with the seatbelt or straps.
This was such an awesome choice for him and is very easy for him to put on and zip up all by himself. (a very big deal at his age!)
So impressed with the quality that I ordered one for myself and cannot wait to get it!
Fits true to size and my 9yr old loves the hood. He claims he has never been so comfortable in a jacket before. Loves it!!! Backcountry had a great choice for a great price. Couldn't go wrong here.
Warm as hell for colder than hell conditions. Make sure to get a decent shell for this bad boy so he can stay dry as well as warm. Mom and Dad will want one of their own shorty after...NO BATTLE!!!!!!!
Their sizing charts are identical so I would say yes. I don't know when it starts changing but I think up to a certain age boys and girls clothes are sized the same way. The kids sizes are more or less the same. The women's sizes are more fitted than the kids and have an extra pocket. And for this you pay an extra $40-50. The hoody Denalis seem to have a trimmer fit as my witnesed by my 18 year old daughter who loves "borrow" my XL Boys one!
