The North Face built the Girls' Denali Fleece Jacket to be durable so it stands up to the abuses of youthful pursuits. Whether you're looking for an extra layer for your little ripper or simply searching for a solid winter jacket to keep your child warm on the way to school, the Denali will surpass your expectations. The Denali features two zippered hand-warmer pockets and a fleecy chin guard to keep kids warm and comfortable. A reflective element gives parents peace of mind. The Denali zips into any of The North Face shells to create a complete insulated winter jacket. * Sleeves cut short to fit children.
Note: To be kinder to the environment, The North Face now manufactures all Denali Jackets with recycled Polartec 300 fleece. Colors with an 'R' in front of the name feature recycled fleece.
Bottom Line: The Denali Jacket keeps parents happy and kids warm.
I bought this jacket for my 15 year old. The coat was soft, great price, however I purchased an XL since the size chart told me that was the correct size. This coat was huge! I bought her twin sister an adult XS and the coat fit perfect. Buying an XL is equal to an adult M. Also, the fit was not the same. The kids coat is different from the adult. It is Boxier, doesn't have the same features. I ended up buying another XS adult and keeping the XL for myself. Again..The price was GREAT. Coat would be perfect for kids who can't tell the difference.
My 11 year old daughter wanted this so bad, but I thought it was too expensive. I didn't realize that it is the fashion must have for middle schoolers! I came across it here at a closeout price that was too good to pass up! She wanted black and I bought her the large and it is perfect. She is not a very big girl, only weighs about 85 lbs (maybe) and the large fits her great with some room to grow. Ended up buying another one for my 10 year old and then broke down and even bought myself one. It is not waterproof and only wind resistant so we will have to see how it is when it gets really cold and wet here in the Northwest, but so far everybody is happy.
I am 24 years old, 5'2 and around 120-125lbs. I have the jacket in a girl's XL and to tell the truth I wish I had the L. The XL is a little too long length-wise. It is still a great jacket but I would definitely like it if it were a little shorter (like maybe hitting just below the hip or at the hip--now it hits more like a hooded sweatshirt or something and comes down below the butt).
But if you are buying for a teenager, they may not be done growing so the XL may be the way to go. But they also may be very lanky and it might eat them up!
Bought this jacket for my daughter, she is very picky, about feel and puffiness. This jacket feels soft, and is no where near puffy and keeps her very warm in our chilly east coast temperatures. Loved this so much just purchased 2 more for my boys.
I'm thinking that the XL girls is going to be a little small - I would look at the small or medium in the ladies depending on how you like your jackets to fit. The Denali does run a little on the large side, so you may want to check the small out. Hope this helps
I got a XL girl's even I am 21 and 5'5 and 120lbs. It looks BIG on me, especially the shoulder part, so wide. I am gonna exchange it for a L and hope it fits better.
For a long time I wondered what all the fuss was about The North Face, but after ordering this fleece jacket, I'm sold! I'm normally a Ladies' Medium, so ordered a Girls' XL and I am very pleased with the fit. It's really comfy and so warm that I can wear it as a regular jacket even when it's freezing outside. Free shipping & prompt delivery sweetened the deal!
I am 5'3", 110 pounds, and a 32DD. I was wondering if I should get a Large in girls or a Extra Large. I want the jacket to fit well but not TOO TOO snug so i can wear, for example, a small hoodie underneath. which should i get?
I bought this fleece for my 10 year old daughter; she's about 70-75lbs and about 4'6''. The medium fits her well - it's a little big so she can wear a couple of layers underneath and it should fit for a while. I think the large will be too small for you.
Hi, I am 5'3, 108 lbs and wear a women's extra-small. Do you think a girls large or medium is better for me? I tend to have to wear women's petite jackets as my shoulders are really narrow.
I will start out by telling you that I thought the jacket was a little expensive for a fleece type coat, but, my daughter just had to have it!! She, of course had to have the green, which was a little difficult to find. She wanted the coat so much, she used some of her birthday money and paid for half the price of the coat!!!! She is 12 and not a big girl, and we first ordered an children's large....it fit but the sleeves were a little short, so check the sleeve length when ordering. We reordered the extra Large and She just loves and and now it will fit her in the Fall.
My daughter loves her fleece - and I love the great deal: fast, free shipping clinched the deal for me, along with the reliabillity. I'll be back to Back Country!
I am 16 and 4feet 10innches I was wondering if the girls size medium would fit me even though I wear a size D bra. I have an adult xs but its a little big.
I am 26, 4'11'' and wear a size 30D or 30DD. I have The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket in a Girls' size Medium. It fits well across the chest/waist, but the sleeves are a bit short for my liking. I would purchase a large or x-large so that the sleeves would be a little longer.
I just ordered the girls XL and I am very pleased with it. I am 5' 2 and I have enough room in it to wear a sweater underneath it. I ordered the girls down jacket XL last winter, and I couldn't be happier. The size is such that I would probably have ordered a women's medium, and I certainly saved quite a bit of money.
I'm considering ordering a chilrens XL vs. an adult small. Problem is there is no sleeve length given in the childrens sizes. What is the length for an girls XL anyone?
when i ordered a northface jacket it finaly got here i was so exited.but it was the wrong size so i sent it back and wrote my color and refund on it and they were soo nice they sent me another for no extra than i already paid so i didnt have to pay anymore. sincerly, nancy-clare
I just received this jacket for my daughter and it is beautiful! But, she is slim with long arms, and I am wondering, can you tell be the dimensions of this jacket and the same one in a women's small, if it is available in the brown? I bought her a kids XXL and I'm afraid the sleeves might be too short by the fall. Thanks! Bonnie
I am really enjoying my Denali fleece jacket. It is lightweight yet very warm. I also like the soft blue color. I anticipate wearing this jacket A LOT!!!
I am 16 years old, 5'2'', 110 lbs. and was wondering if this jacket(for size large) has a feminine fit to it and will be flattering to my figure. I do not want a boxy jacket that just lays there on my body...Is this the jacket for me?
Bought the XL as a present for my wife...fits great and she absolutely loves it. Backcountry.com is a great site! I will definitely be ordering more gear from here in the future!
i got my jacket right on time, really great. i would be a womens small( 5'3", 110lbs) but the girls XL fits great. nice color, i get compliments on the color all the time! great product!
I love the color oragen and i would like a north face fleece in organce nand I can never find one....all i can find is the yam oragan whicht i dont like . So if anyone out there finds one please tell me thanks
I purchased 2 Denali Fleece jackets for my daughters and a down jacket for myself. Backcountry had the best prices on all 3 items, shipping was super quick, and I am so pleased. I will definitely order from Backcountry again.
im 14 yrs old, my height is 5"1, and i weigh about 95 pounds. what size would i get for either a girls or womens jacket in The North Face Denali Fleece for a nice fit? please let me know! thanks
Very happy with our purchase. Great price and free shipping. Our whole family has the denali jackets. They last a long time and are great year round. My kids wear them seriously year round. It was the first time buying from Backcountry and we will be using them in the future.
I am looking at the girls fleece jackets and wonder why some have an "R" listed before and those are $98.95 each. What is the different from the jackets listed at $69?
It doesn't cost more because it is recycled, it costs more because the recycled fabric is the current model. There weren't any price increases on fleece products that North Face went to recycled fabrics on.
hi,i am 16 and 4'11 and i weight 93poundsi got the north face jacket in xxs, i didn't really know how the sizes are...i was wondering is an xxs to small for me?
I think its the perfect color combo for me and its comfy for a nice fall or spring day. Its perfect for ski days too! The staff is great too. I had to return one size and get another and they were very helpful! Thanks!
my daughter is 13 but she's 5'7" and 120 lbs. I bought the girls large for her last year. The only thing that doesn't fit this year is the sleeves. They are a little short on her now. She is tall with long arms so you can probably get away with the girls large
very true to size, I am 5ft tall I ordered a girls large fit perfect. I also ordered a med for my daughter it fit her perfect. Very happy and pleased with both items
Write your question here...my daughter can a men medium. She is about 4'5" and 102lbs. she is 11 years old. I was thinking of the XL. will that be too big or should i go with the large.
Hi I am 5'5 and 125 pounds and L is a good and nice fit for me. However, I ordered XLs for the fleece so that I can layer them. For your daughter's size, XL may be too big for her. For a 4'5'' girl, L should be a good size.
Purchased the denali for my 10 yr old daughter and I purchased one for myself they are perfect. Warm and lightweight. She is very petite and does not like anything heavy, she puts it on without a fuss. Good service from Backcountry.
My daughter wanted the jacket so I let her try them on at the mall. I decided the childrens XL was plenty big even tho she's a teen. Just a bit longer but I think it will keep her warmer. I told my friend and she bought the L child for her daughter and they are both thrilled with their Christmas presents. I made sure the free shipping meant on time for Christmas and I ordered in time so standard was good. Got it a week early. Love your site!
I'm sixteen years old and looking to buy this jacket, but frankly I don't know exactly how sizing would work, even after looking at the actual sizing chart. I'm a freakishly tall 5'10" and I wear a size one or three jeans and I'm concerned about it either having sleeves that are too short because of my long arms and the actual jacket length not being long enough...any insight?
I got this jacket for my daughter and also bought the kids size XL instead of women's small. The fit was slightly baggy but fine overall and the sleeve length was ok, too. she is very happy with the jacket and wears it almost everyday and says it is very warm. Would definitely recommend Backcountry to a friend.
I ordered this for my daughter for christmas, I had ordered an XL, to big, sent it back and got a L fits her perfect and she absolutly loves it. I would recommend it to anyone. Now my Mom and oldest daughter want one. I will use Back country again.
Couldn't find any thing local for our daughter. She has been wearing it every day since she got it! Love the customer service and the "funny-ness" of the company. Found the company by googling; will shop here again!
I ordered 3 jackets the day after Thanksgiving. Received 2 jackets with order. was Never contacted that the main jacket I needed was on back order. Went to another site, got the jacket. Was not happy with how this order was handled.
As mentioned here, the kids sizes are boxy (i.e. big in the shoulders). I couldn't size down or the sleeves would be too short, so I sewed an extra seam on the inside of the top shoulder and that fixed the problem. I think North Face really needs to rethink the proportions for kids, however.
The shoulders are huge on these North Face kids jackets! I can't imagine what child they're using as a model. It seems like the women's clothes are better proportioned.
Hey I love my fleece north face jacket! :) I have a gray one, but I would realy like another one in oragen becuase that is my favorite color! :) so if you find one please let me know:)
Love the jacket! I have a girls L - though i'm a 5'4" adult. Originally i went with the girls XL but found it be a bit more boxy in the shoulders than i like so called customer service and they had a new one in the mail to me for the same sale price (though it wasn't on sale any longer) and told me to return the XL separately and they would refund me but that way i recieved the preferred size quicker. A++ for customer service!! (I have since made 2 more purchases with back country and have experienced same great service every time! )
Bought this for my sister, and she loved it - its soft, warm, and does a good job of blocking the wind too, unlike some other fleeces. The adult S was a bit big on her, so I bought the girls L and it was a perfect fit. She loves that its practical and yet fashionable at the same time. Would def recommend this to others - its such a useful staple to have, you really can't go wrong with it!
Hi! I remember looking at your site before Christmas and the kid's denali fleece was priced at $66.00. At the time, my little one did not want one. I bought two for her sisters in the adult sizes at $120.00 each. Any chance in getting that $66.00 price now for the blue bliss kids size large? I have a 15% coupon, but its not applicable to Northface. Thank you- Kristen Cullen
I wanted a new Denali Jacket, and last time I bought women's Denali, paying the extra. But I learned that I could fit into kid's Large and fits me perfect. (5'4" 110 lbs.) Anyways, I'm very glad that I could get such a quality product with great price. Denali jacket is awesome.
The difference, at least in the WOMEN's version (not girl's), is in material and therefore warmth. The thermal jacket is a lot warmer than the regular. The thermal jacket uses Polartec Thermal Pro High Loft. It has longer length fur, which makes it a lot more efficient at trapping heat. Whereas the regular jacket is made of Polartec 300 fleece, a heavy weight fleece but is not as "furry" as the other, and therefore not as efficient in keeping heat. I can tell you by experience that the Thermal Pro High Loft is really a lot warmer than any heavy weight fleece material out there.Do keep in mind that neither jacket is any wind resistant. I see in a lot of reviews in the women's version that people complain that the wind goes right through. Well that's supposed to be the case. Wear a windproof layer on top to solve the issue.
I have purchased the north face Denali fleece for myself twice, and for my father and brother once each. These jackets are warm and indispensable. My friend wanted a nice warm fleece for her six year old, and I went directly to The North Face. The same great quality and durability as the adult only in cute colors and a smaller size. Quality is worth the price, my little friend will get 2 years out of this fleece, and it will look new for someone else!
I was so pleased when my North Face Denali jacket came in the mail! It was in excellent condition, and arrived the exact day it was projected to arrive; it has been a wonderful! It got here just in time, as the cool weather of fall has been getting colder and colder lately. It is very warm, but light and not bulky. I am a petite size medium and I have plenty of room in the Girl's XL. Thanks for a great experience!
Last time I bought The North Face Denali Jacket, I bought the women's one. This time, I bought it from the girl's. Same quality but fits better and almost half the price!!! Girl's Denali Jacket really rocks! Love it!
North Face Denali jackets are the best. My daughter grew out of hers. We tried the XL in kids, but it didn't fit her well. It was boxy. She is a teenager with a slim build. On the advice of the great people at this site (they were wonderful and patient with comparing sizes) we decided to order her a women's North Face instead.
I purchased this jacket for my daughter and she has always been a complainer when it comes to wearing a coat. The Denali seems to please both of us. It is not bulky for her and it is warm enough for me. Thanks.
I have to say that the jacket fit my daughter perfectly. She was so excited when she received it. For the weather we are having in NY this year, no other jacket could be better. The delivery was so quick, which made it a great Christmas gift to her. Thank you guys- you gave a little girl a huge smile.
I bought this jacket for my 9 year old daughter. She was delighted! The quality of The North Face stands above the rest. Nice lightweight jacket for the GREAT weather we've been having in the Northeast!
I called customer service and they told me it's 28". That's the measurement from the middle of your back to the wrist if you hold your arm out to the side.
The fresh green isn't in stock in small right now, the other two are. The site for the boys' jacket is here:http://www.backcountry.com/store/TNF1558/The-North-Face-Denali-Fleece-Jacket-Boys.htmlGet on Live Chat and see if you can get a special order for the green one, or go to the North Face website.
Bought it for my 14 year old daughter and she just loves it!! It is actually the 3rd North Face she has had...They are made so well and look so great..I have one myself.. Linda N.
I was just wondering, I ordered this jacket for my 8 yo daughter for Christmas. My 14 yo son has one and she says that she doesnt like it and and wants the furry denali looking one for Christmas but it doesnt look as good in quality as the regular denali. Which one is actually a better jacket for the Seattle pacific nw area?
I don't think at all. I have an 11 & 13 one of each and they can wear each others coats just fine. I bought myself the boys XL for me when it was on sale and I think its fine. Hope this helps.
I ordered a youth large for my 12 year old daughter who is 5'2" and 95 lbs. The body of the jacket was a good fit but the sleeves were too short. We did not exchange for the youth XL because we felt that the body would be too large even if the sleeves would fit properly. Otherwise we liked this item.
