The North Face Dakota II Jacket - Women's

Despite its name, The North Face created the Women’s Dakota II Jacket for winter alpine conditions and steep descents—though we’re sure it’d help you stay dry and warm as you trudge through a flat, snowy field in the midwest too. Waterproof breathable HyVent fabric combined with sealed seams and waterproof zippers stop snow from getting in yet let your sweat get out so you don’t get clammy and chilled. Synthetic insulation protects you from plummeting temps, while a fulltime hood, powder skirt, Lycra wrist cuffs, and ability to attach to your The North Face pants all let you batten down the hatches as needed.

Bottom Line: The Dakota II’s made for shredding up the mountain.

Is this a warm enough winter jacket for New England??

That really depends on how much you're moving around and how cold it is, but if you're at the minimum of activity (standing still), it should be fine down to about 15 degrees. If you're walking, running, hiking, or anything else, I'd say down below zero.

K- It really depends on what type of activity you are going to be using the jacket for whether it is going to be warm enough or not. It is a ski jacket, and has a decent insulation package for a wide range of temperatures when layering appropriately. If you are looking for more of an around town jacket for cold days in New England, I would probably recommend some other jackets:
-North Face Nuptse Down Jacket
-North Face Gotham Jacket
-North Face Destiny Down Jacket
-North Face Tempest Down Jacket

The Tempest might be interesting if you are looking for a warm around town jacket that you could also ski in.
Hope this helps
