The North Face Dafda Boa Multisport Shoe - Men's

The North Face Men’s Dafda Boa Multisport Shoe includes a super-sticky HydryTrak sole and hydrophobic SBR lining for serious wet-conditions performance. A Boa lacing system lets you in and out in seconds, so you can quickly stash these shoes and swim a section of canyon. The North Face also added a TPU X-Frame to the upper for increased support when you have to bring along lots of gear.

Bottom Line: Bring on the water.

these shoes are pretty niffty. i live in alaska so hitting the trials this summer will be amazing! walking in the snow is kinda lame though, with all the venting including on the soul of the shoe snow/water gets in easily but my feet dry at a rediculas speed so i am able to deal with it! i highly recomend these shoes! cant go wrong with north face gear and i never have to tie my shoes as long as i have these puppys!

I love the boa system because I'm too lazy to tie my shoes,

I love the boa system because I'm too lazy to tie my shoes, and I don't do much as far as water sports.

So, my question is... how would you rate these shoes for just every day normal use?

I really like the boa for every-day use, the system is super fast and easy.... If you like this style of shoes for around town then I think you will not be disappointed!

the La Sportiva Exum river is a much better canyoneering shoe... its has far more support, comfort and more importantly gription on slippery surfaces

North Face Dafda Review

By:
June 23, 2009

when i bought these shoes i was looking for a type of water/hiking shoe that i could use in the narrows and the subway in Zion national park in Utah. these shoes are extremely light and fit very nicely even with neoprene socks. the Boa lacing system is absolutely amazing... until you get into some sand... sand made the knob very difficult to twist and tighten, and it didn't make the clicking noise it once made... but none the less they stayed tight. when it comes to walking through rivers, or on a flat sandy stone, you might as well be on ice because there is 0 traction. also for hardcore canyoneering like the subway or the narrows these shoes are not recommend. there is no support whatsoever. your foot molds to ever single rock you step on and it can get quite painful. this a good shoe for kayaking or crossing rivers or streams on a trail, but not for long or strenuous hikes. if your looking for the best canyoneering shoes there are basicaly only 2. the 5.10 canyoneers and the exum rivers. i did the narrows with 2 guys who each had on either the 5.10's or the exum rivers, and they had no traction or suport problems... i struggled and was in quite a bit of pain. the next 2 days i could hardly cram my feet into my normal hiking shoes because of my feet being so swollen.

Great for Kayaking/Canoeing

By:

Great shoe for canoeing and kayaking. Also very light weight to carry backpacking for water crossings. Boa lacing system is great. Recently did 32 miles on Illinois river and shoe performed great. While my friends were whining about rocks in their sandals I was just smiling. Only real negative is that it offers no support and the sole is very thin so you would not want to do much hiking or canyoneering in it, but that's also why it is so light weight.
