The North Face Crestone 75 Backpack - 4300-4880cu in
Get ready for that four day winter ski trek to Mt. Perfectsnow by loading up The North Face Crestone 75 Backpack with all the gear, food, and extras you need. The North Face designed the spacious Crestone 75 Backpack with a hip-belt that has two pivot points, allowing each side to rotate independently as you move over rugged terrain. E-Vap technology ventilates your would-be sweaty zones and several internal and external compression straps eliminate dead space. Side access to the main compartment makes pulling out your puffy coat simple. Ski slots hold your powder sticks on the final steep ascent, and The North Face's ergonomic design and V-stay suspension system hold the pack snuggly to your back whether you're making turns in powder or hiking into the wilderness.
Bottom Line: The only thing bigger than this pack is the delivery truck it comes in.
Yes, this bag does have a slot for the tube to go through. I have the older version of this and the slot where the bladder goes into, can be a little tricky to deal with, when inserting a full water bladder. I use a 100 oz bladder. They make a womens specific version. The North Face Crestone 60.
This is the first legit backpack I have owned, and I love it. The back ventilates well, and the pack sits comfortably. I also like the side zipper for quick access to the bottom. Tons of space, but the pack easily collapses down for use on shorter trips. The only thing I wish it had was a small pocket on the hip belt to keep a few things handy with the pack on (camera, or a snack), but that is a minor detail. Highly recommended.
Excellent pack. Used it for a week long hike and it carried all necessary gear with room to spare. Great padding, great ventilation and great weight management. I highly suggest investing in a adaptable water reservoir to go with the pack.
I have a pack that is 4500 cu in and I have never been able to carry it onto a plane. Just a bit too big. I am not so sure about this specific bag though.
This is a great pack, I really like it. There are plenty of places to store your stuff, the outside pockets are pretty handy for keeping little things for quick access, and the side access to the main compartment is really great. It has a lot of compression straps on the inside and outside to keep your load secured and close to you. The ventilation on the back panel is great, very effective. This pack is very comfortable, can carry a big load, and still feels great.
Just wondering if this pack's hip strap pockets are big enough to hold an ipod or a flask lol. I've seen some nice GoLite packs that have massive net pockets on them that would for sure fit them. The Crestone just has lack of photos to see them.
I lave used this pack for about a year now (once an month overnighter). This is very comfortable and can fit all the stuff I usually end up taking on my hikes. It is extremely comfortable and I have never worn another pack like it. For the money this has been a great investment!
I could not honestly tell you, but backcountry.com gives you an almost unconditional lifetime warrantee when you buy stuff from them. Just send it back for a new one or something different.
I have an older version of this pack but never the less, it's amazing!! I've comfortably carried enough food, water, and equipment to last a week in this bag at one time. Great storage space inside. Really love the Top, Front and Bottom access points. In my older version, the sleeping bag compartment opening was larger then this one. I've carried I think around like 50lbs+ in this pack. Make sure your load adjusting straps on the top are set correctly otherwise, the pack will feel like its all on your shoulders and not your hips. I still like my pack better then the new one cause in mine you had a better front access pocket and more storage space in the front pocket. I recomend this to anyone looking for an amazing pack for 3+ day long to week long backpacking/camping trips. It also works well for hiking in from basecamp to the climbing crag and carrying all your gear (rope, harness, shoes, helmet, a full rack), food water, and more. I couldn't ask for a better backpack!!!!!
I bought it and have loaded it way down with all sorts of backcountry hunting and backpacking gear a few times already and have been pretty impressed with it. It is defintely well made and once adjusted and loaded properly will carry heavy loads comfortably. Did I say it was well made? This is the second North Face product I've bought, I also have the Flight bivy sack. I'm pretty picky when it comes to gear , flaws in quality I find unacceptable and frustrating when they finally arrive and pulled out of the package. This backpack did not let me down, it is a quality product. Money well spent.
I'm headed to Europe for 15 days. Will this pack be big enough. It should be pretty warm and I'm packing pretty light. Mostly t-shirts and shorts. Won't need to fit any equipment or a bladder.
This is my first pack, so I'm not sure if I should go for a smaller one and/or a lighter one. I doubt I'll get much hiking in on this trip, but in the future I would rather not have to buy a lighter one as well.
I used my recently purchased Crestone 75 twice already on trips to SC/NC mountains and have nothing but praise for its ability to haul stuff, comfortable fit, looks and finish. If packed smartly, you can fit clothing for several days, 100 oz filled hydration bladder, sleeping pad, light tent, sleeping bag (ultralight), compack stove and more and still hike for several miles without much back discomfort. Great pack indeed.
In tech specs says: Access Types Top and side. There is no sleeping bag zipped bottom access? Having already the TNF Goliath do you think that i must choose the 60(Large 65L) or the 75(Large 85L) Crestone? I'm going to use the bag for 4 days trips max. Thanks
i have the 75, and it will be just fine for a 4 day trip. plenty of room. there is access at the bottom for a sleeping bag. I would definately go with the 75. Good Luck!
Yes it will for sure. It should hold enough. Definitely make sure you have a good compression stuff sack for your sleeping bag. That will give you more room in your pack and your sleeping bag will fit much better in the pack as well.
i just did nine days in the hood river range and i'm hella stoked i grabbed this pack before heading out. amazing price, awesome fit, and held every ounce of gear perfectly.. even the stinky ounce..
plus it carried my prize armadas comfortably up hood, all around Tahoe, the Wasatch and up in my home Teton Range. awesome buy....do it!!
It all depends on the size of the person that you're trying to fit. This should help you determine that:http://www.thenorthface.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=10475&storeId=207&catalogId=10201&langId=-1&from=subCat&parent_category_rn=11748&variationId=7E5View the sizing chart under where you select the size.Hope that helps!
