The North Face Crestone 60 Backpack - Women's - 3350-3650cu in
The North Face Women's Crestone 60 Backpack comfortably carries heavy loads on long treks. Ripstop nylon and 500D Kodra fabrics laughingly withstand nature's arsenal of rocks, trees, and wild attacking rodents while a daisy chain and trekking pole loops let you carry all the weapons you need to fight back. A women's-specific design lets the adjustable hipbelt and sternum strap find a superb fit up front, while various compression straps and load lifters customize fit in the back. When you reach base camp, ditch the pack and remove the hood—it doubles as a lumbar pack for that final ascent to the summit.
Bottom Line: The wild rodents have chosen the wrong girl to mess with.
They were plenty of attractive features on it, but the killer reason for her ... was the looks.... as she got together with a couple of friends and made this the winner. not only it looks good, its very functional, it has a bunch of configurable straps for size, the shoulder straps are comfy and has good ventilation, its done some trips and all i hear are good things from it
i understand one feature of the w crestone 60 is that the hood can be converted into a lumbar pack. i can remove the hood, but I cant figure out how the hood straps onto my waist because I see no straps. please help! thanks.
Write your question here... My daughter will backpack in Europe and stay in hostels. if she doesn't need a sleeping bag, what type of things are best packed in the sleeping bag compartment?
I would would either put anything that you don't necesarrily need to get to regularly but want want easily accesible when you do need it. (ie fleece, rain jacket, toiletries). Or as you start to accumulate dirty clothes I sometimes stuff them in the sleeping bag compartment to keep them seperate from my clean/cleaner clothes.
This is a great pack. I just took it for a 14-day trip through Europe and it help up really well. The sleeping bag compartment at the bottom was awesome! As someone else said, would have like more inside pockets but the pack fit really well; I have a long torso and typically don't fit comfortably into women's packs...that wasn't an issue with this one. As always, TNF--another great product.
Write your question here...Is this top entry only? AND, one lady said this pack fit her at 5' 2", But what about waiste size (my daughter is about 22"?
My son is 12 (5'5" / 110#) and is a very active boyscout. We live close to Houston and camp throughout the year, so our criteria was durability, big enough for a week camp yet small enough for the weekend too, and able to fit him for a few years. The backpack has top, front and bottom access points, and a big sleeping bag compartment. It has an ample number of clip-on points for all of the standard scouting gadgets, and is extremely comfortable on extended hikes. The only "issue" he has had is that the bottom access point has a hole on either side that stuff (socks, underwear, etc.) can slide into the sleeping bag compartment. Also, we did need to purchase a raincover separately, but have been remarkably pleased with the form/fit/function.
The small size will work just fine for you however it's more important to choose the right size pack using the torso length measurement. To find your torso length, measure your back along the spine from the the top point of your hipbones to the knobby bone at the base of your neck. This will give you a measurement in inches that will determine the correct pack size. I would use the aforementioned procedure & find your correct size.
