The North Face Citation Soft Shell 2 Jacket - Women's - 2008
The North Face Women's Citation Soft Shell 2 Jacket might have a badass look and don't-mess-with-me features like waterproof breathable Gore-Tex 3L fabric on the outside, but the inside of this slope-friendly softshell is all about furry fleece lining. This means that while the hood, fully taped seams, waterproof laser-cut zippers, and powder skirt block snow, the thermal-enhanced comfort mapping on the inside of the Citation feels cozy and comfy. The powder skirt, internal goggle pocket, and Underarm zips make this jacket ski-tour worthy, while the built-in RECCO reflector might aid ski patrol in-bounds.
I've got the white, Small, Citation 2 and I love it! It's warm, waterproof, and windproof. It's been keeping me dry and warm here in Japan. I'm 5'5", and the small is great for layering, since it's just a shell. This jacket is fully loaded with tons of pockets and zippers. There's extra room in the elbows to make movement easy and the lining is super soft.
The downsides to the jacket are the zippers. The zippers have a rubber sealing system to keep out all water, which is great, but it makes the zippers difficult to zip sometimes. The pit zips, which are extremely useful, also make it awkward to put your arms down because of the stiffness from the rubber sealing.
All in all, a great jacket. It's been really useful and it's a great looking jacket. And seriously, you can't beat Gore-tex.
I'm looking for a good shell to use with the TNF Denali. I see that this jacket does not have zip-in capabilities. Does that make it (and all non-zips) a good candidate for compatibility? Thanks!
I am looking for a women's north face, gore-tex jacket with zip in capabilities...what are my options. I will be wearing this for 3 months, nov-feb while backpacking europe (germany, switzerland, france, italy, etc)
