The North Face Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Climashield Prism - Women's

With warm synthetic Climashield Prism insulation and a custom women's fit, the 20-Degree North Face Women's Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag keeps you cozy as a kitten on your spring and fall trips. Added insulation at the head and feet and women's-specific fit in the hips and shoulders accommodates your female form to keep you warmer than unisex bags. Feel the soft, breathable silken lining as you slip into the Cat's Meow Sleeping Bag, zip up the glow-in-the-dark zipper, and pull the one-hand cord to adjust the hood. Store your watch in the head-level pocket and wake up in time for that first ascent.

Bottom Line: Curl up inside The North Face Cat's Meow 20-Degree Sleeping Bag and purr the night away in warmth.

Will this sleeping bag zip up to link together with any other

Will this sleeping bag zip up to link together with any other sleeping bag? So that you can have 2 people together? If not, what would be a good bag or two to get this done?

The ultimate solution is The North Face Twin Peaks two person sleeping bag. If you want to go the two sleeping route, stick with the same manufacturer, and if you are buying mummy bags, I recommend buying one left hand zip and one right- this way both hoods will be facing the same direction when you zip them together.

I love this bag for a few reasons. There is actually a nice concentration of at the head and feet and it is snuggly warm. I used this on part of the Appalachian Trail and it was by far the most comfortable sleeping bag I have ever used especially since I am allergic to actual down.

In REI today, the salesman recommended this bag in 6'6'' to me. NOw I see it is a chick's bag . . . I'm a 6'1'' guy - should I be offended?

To my knowledge, the women's model is fit so that there is more room for women's hips and there is more padding in the feet since women tend to have colder toes than men. I wouldn't be offended though.

Other Half Likes It

Asked my wife how she liked her Cat's Meow (I have a matching in Mens Long). She like the fit which isn't too snug on the sides. She's never complained that it was too cold, normally in fact it's too warm, though she's only been out at lowest around 35-40 degrees. Though this isn't a dialogue, I have to wonder if Kelly's review stating it only kept her warm to 50-70 deg could be from lack of sleeping pad under the bag. Remember, the ground leaches heat like nothing else and even a 0 degree bag would feel cold in the morning if it's laying directly on the tent floor.

Is the internal lining consistent on the Cat's Meow, or does

Is the internal lining consistent on the Cat's Meow, or does it have a different lining in the foot box than in the rest of the internal bag lining? I would also like to know why the Polarguard Cat's Meow is more expensive than the Climashield version of the Cat's Meow. Both are rated to 20 degrees, so is one better than the other or have a different function? ThanksJennilee

The lining is consistent throughout. Polarguard has been the standard synthetic for decades & is more expensive to produce. Neither insulation is as good as down.---------Unless you consider it getting damp (I know, you shouldn't let it) in which case it is better, and cheaper.

Inaccurate temperature rating

I've had this bag for two years, and have been continually disappointed with it. Every night that I've slept out that it's been any cooler than about 45 degrees, I've been uncomfortably cold... even with lots of layers on. The worst was an April raft trip where the weather dipped below thirty. I was in a tent with a rain fly and another person, with a fleece blanket over the top of me, and I still had to wear a down jacket inside the bag to stay warm enough.
For me, the bag works great between 50 and 70 degrees... unfortunately, any $25 Coleman sleeping bag could do that for me.
