The North Face Caber Hybrid jacket gives you the best of the hard- and softshells worlds in a single jacket. Having difficulty deciding between a hardshell's protection and a softshell's comfort? Your choice is easy. The North Face Caber Hybrid jacket weatherproofs places like the shoulders and hood, where rain and snow hits most with waterproof/breathable HyVent fabric. Areas where breathability is important, like the underarms, are made of Apex water resistant softshell. Ski or ride all season with this wonder, and take it climbing too. This Hybrid design makes for a versatile and comfortable jacket suited to any conditions short of a Himalayan storm.
Bottom Line: Why compromise? Get everything you want.
Fantastic Jacket, performed well on and off piste in Norway, and in the backcountry both summer and winter. Excellent breathability, water repellencey and good combo of colours.
The caber has all the features I look for in a shell: 3-layer construction, full-time hood, core vents (instead of pit zips), NO powder skirt (just bunches up on me anyway) and an athletic fit. The only fault is in the softshell panels. I knew they wouldn't be waterproof but they're not nearly as water resistant as other softshells Ive had. In fact, I think this shell would be perfect if it wasn't a hybrid. You have the core vents already, why do you need breathable (and unadjustable) softshell panels? Its redundant. Overall, I do have to say Im happy and would still recommend it as long as you dont intend on using it in even a very light drizzle.
I picked up the Tungsten/Asphalt grey style, and have gotten so many comments on how stylish it is. Had it out in a downpour and it kept me perfectly dry. Nice to have the breathable softshell under the arms. The pockets double as the core vents in front. Very athletic cut, not bulky at all. Only wish the hood was removable.
I just got this amazing hybrid jacket. Since I am from Canada, the weather lately has been a bit weird. I went out for a trail run, this jacket is simple amazing. It kept me totally dry at the right temperature. I will never leave home without it.
Wow! I didn't expect this jacket to look so good! Is not just looks but is practical since it does everything it was designed to do even though the layers are thin. So you can go out in harsh weather and look good at the same time. Plus, the service you get from backcountry is exceptional, they did everything possible to get me my order on time.
I have worn it skiing in Tahoe, in the non-stop rains of SF, and to the bars. It's your all in one jacket. Stylish and Functional. I looked at many jackets before deciding on this one. It's pretty light, so you have to layer under it, but that is perfect for skiing in Tahoe and it's also pretty short so it's good for skiing. All around great jacket. Very happy with it and backcountry also delivered it quickly and well packaged.
This jacket is incredible. I had it out in huge winds and snow. I skinned in it for two hours to the summit. It kept me dry and vented like nothing else. If you are looking for the best of both worlds a breatheable shell that keeps the weather at bay with great mobility this is it. This is a must own piece and the price isn't bad for what you get.
