The North Face Women's Boulevard Jacket warms you this fall and winter with PrimaLoft One insulation and a detachable fur-trimmed collar. Hand pockets keep your fingers toasty on chilly days. The North Face even included an internal media pocket so you can have your tunes readily available when you need a little distraction from the daily grind.
Bottom Line: Stay toasty all winter with The North Face Boulevard Jacket.
This coat was purchased for my daughter who finds it stylish yet casual and quite warm for the weight. Sizing information is quite accurate; she is 5'2" tall and weighs 110 lbs and the size S fits well with just sufficient room to wear a fairly chunky turtleneck sweater. There is, however, a question of quality that has detracted from the overall positive assessment: one of the front buttons has already come off, and one or two others seem loose (this is after less than a week of wear around town.)
As noted by other reviewers this coat is lightweight and exceptionally warm, and true to size with plenty of space for a sweater. I've received many compliments on the coat so far. I like the fact that all of the pockets have zippers and the fuzzy detachable collar (which I thought I would ditch when the coat arrived) is now also one of my favorite features, as it helps to block out the blustery harsh winds. this was my first ever North Face purchase and I'm a new fan. The only thing I don't like is that fact that the coat looks lumpy if you put too much stuff in the pockets, but hey that's what a bag is for, right? I have a 75 minute Metro commute each way, and this coat (plus my mp3 player) have made it that much better! this coat is superb and well worth the money.
What's the difference in lengths (if any) between the small and the medium? I am about 5'2" and 125 pounds (I guess you can say I'm a little chubby). I read that one of the reviewers stated she was 5'2"/110 pounds and bought a small. Do you think a small would fit me too?
I ordered this coat in a xs and it fit perfectly. I am 5'4 110 lbs. It's not super long. It goes to a little above the backs of my knees. Looks great and is very warm considering the light weight feel. Another feature that I really liked was the zipper underneath the buttons. The coat is sophisticated yet sporty. Lots of pockets. Perfect with any outfit.
This jacket is all the other reviewers note, including the poorly attached buttons. There is very little thread included, of the flimsy cotton kind. That sort of felt a tad uncool wrt the pricetag. The fit is not so good for me, it looks rather bulky, forget about using the pockets-bulky, that is. I am slender and petite and the jacket is cut in an hourglass way that ends in A-line. SO bottom line, the cut and quality dont justify this purchase to me. That being said, I love the taupe color, and the collar is pretty cool too, and it sad to send it back, especially since the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter yesterday.

Stylish solution to sub-zero temperatures. Ordered this coat at the beginning of the winter season in Montreal. We're talking -30 Celsius here people. Good length, nice big collar that turns up and stays up. Wish it had a hood. Windproof and waterproof. Neat little MP3 pocket inside with loops to keep ear buds untangled. The double breasted button feature that hides the zipper in front is cute but the top button fell off and was lost within the first week. 1 extra button included inside the coat. I get lots of compliments on the style and color (graphite grey). It's an expensive coat and it's worth every penny. I'll wear this coat for years.
How warm is this jacket when compared to down-insulated parkas like the Canada Goose Chilliwack? Is it lined with real fur? As asked bu msw..., are the arms insulated as well? I'm up in Montreal, pretty cold up here...
I wanted to love this coat, it looked so cute in the picture... and even in the box! I found it ill fitting (loose in shoulders, torso, tightish in hips). Lighter weight than I expected, not very warm, sort of boxy and unstylish on. Oh well.
i like the coat. its stylish, and i love the cherry brown color. i am about 5'4" and petite, and was between the XS and S size, and went with small. its just a bit large in the chest (both front and back) but its still a fairly tapered cut and flattering for this sort of winter coat. the faux fur keeps the collar warm and is a great part of the style. the coat has one button to close the flap and cover the chest at the collar rather than leaving open with that slight "v" neck, and it works pretty well but if you are layered up beneath its too tight to close it. i do need to layer underneath in the very cold weather, and that was one reason i didn't go with the XS. i personally don't find it super warm (alone), but with layers it works out very well. if it had a hood it would be even better. i'm happy i bought it and am enjoying it. i get a good number of compliments on it (even in fashion conscious nyc...). so its not perfect but is pretty good overall.
I haven't bought the arctic parka so i wouldn't know, but the boulevard is pretty warm the price is a bit high but the coat is lovely, great for winter. I hope that helps.
I purchased this jacket for my girlfriend for her birthday. She is approx. 5'10" 150 lbs tall and skinny so to say and usually wears a small to medium jacket. I originally ordered the medium because of her sleve length and height and had to return it for a small. I found Backcountry's customer service to be some of the best customer service I have ever received in retail. My girlfriend loves the jacket, I have never seen another woman wear it so I feel the Boulevard jacket is somewhat unique. She says it is very warm for a semi dress coat in Minnesota weather, goes well with her business attire, and she gets compliments on it whenever she wears it. She loves the look and feel of the jacket and I would recommend buying one without a doubt.
There are 2061 different jackets on this site, more than half of which are women's and 108 of which are in the same "casual" category as this one. You're going to have to be a bit more specific.
