Just because it's -20F doesn't mean you shouldn't look good. Slip on The North Face Women's Bella Alta Boot and enjoy warm, comfortable winter boots with a little extra style. Rated to -25F (-32C), this boot features a HydroSeal waterproof membrane to keep your feet dry, and 200g of PrimaLoft Eco insulation to keep your feet warm, whether you're out shoveling or enjoying some après ski cocktails. The locking rear zipper makes for easy in and out, while an Australian sheepskin collar gives these boots a little flair. The North Face knows it's hard to look good when you're falling down every five steps, so they added a Winter Grip rubber outsole and a nylon shank to give you tons of traction and support on slick surfaces.
I wanted stylish winter boots that would keep me warm without feeling clunky, and these are perfect! They're tall enough to keep snow out while I brush off my car in the mornings, but not so tall or heavy it feels like I'm wearing bricks. The brown looks great with jeans, and the zipper makes getting them on and off very easy.
As for sizing, I wear a 7.5 in dress shoes and an 8 in anything that requires socks, and the 8 fits perfectly. I'd be wary of ordering a half size up, but if you're between two sizes like I am, the larger size should fit.
I got these boots from my AWESOME brother for Xmas last year (thx Chowder!). They have served me well... super comfy for apres-riding in Tahoe and PC. They were a lifesaver the night my "friends" decided we should walk from downtown up the town lift trail to their house on Upper Norfolk, at midnite, in a sub-zero coldspell. My traction was great, but 30 minutes later, I was gasping for my albuterol inhaler - My feet were the last warm place on my body... so now I'm shopping for a new jacket! NOTE: zipper can be tough on the back of your leg, so wear taller socks (smartwools are my fave!).
I wish there was a 4.5 star rating I could give because I do LOVE them they are very toasty roasty. I went for a hike in wet and cool (raining and around 45-50 degrees) conditions and when I got home my feet were perfectly dry and very warm. They are pretty cute too and as a girl with I'd say above average wide feet I find these roomy enough ordeing half a size up. I have the brown ones and the only thing I don't love is the Australian sheepskin collar- I find it a bit abrasive against bare skin (I typically wear low socks) so I bought some knee high socks to wear with them so they would have a barrier between the sheepskin collar and my calves and it has fixed my trouble. I would definitely invest in these though! I wish I had them in my past.. I have many freeezing feeeet memories. =]
I bought these a year ago and they've been terrific: lightweight, very warm, great traction and true to size. A very comfy boot. However, after a year one of the zippers tore out. The zippers are placed on the back, so that pulling up on them is a bit awkward, which I think contributed to the wear. I would recommend these in all other regards, however.
I read other reviews that these boots were too tight... I have a very wide foot and high instep, and though the first few times they were hard to slip into, I've found their width to be great, and comfortable. Plus, they are VERY warm in cold weather. My only issue is I could not zip them up completely in back onto my thick calves. Otherwise, almost perfect.
That's a tough one. Check out this stuff you can get at most any grocery store called Oxy Clean. You spray it on, let it sit for 5 minutes and mop it up with a towel. That will get just about anything out.Hope that helps.
I didn't know I had a hole in my shoe wardrobe until I bought these. I wear them nearly every day! I get cold feet easily, too. Last winter I wore Columbia Bugaboos and short Cole Haan leather boots all winter long. But now I have the TNF Bella Altas. These cute boots are good for every winter task--long winter walks, trips to the store, underneath jeans in slushy parking lots, all day at work (business casual.) They're too cute to shovel in, but they're up for the task. My mother-in-law calls them 'shoe boots.' I call them required winter wear!
Bought my 1st pair of North Face boots over 20 years ago and still wear them. These are a delicious chocolatey brown and keep my feet toasty warm. Even find myself wearing them around the house as slippers on my lazy winter days!
You could snowshoe in them but they wouldn't be ideal. I normally want something that tightens up quite a bit more and also something that is a bit taller. I've never worried much about the stiffness of the sole when snowshoeing but the rest of the boot made a big difference.Hope that helps.
This is by far the best boot I have ever owned. It is very warm, comfortable and easy to get on and off. I wear 6.5 and it fits perfectly. They have nice tread on them and look cool too. I recommend them highly.
I would like to purchase these boots for my daughter who is in college and walks EVERYWHERE, our winters are cold and wet here in Indiana. First, are these waterproof?? and most important are these warm?? Her feet get really cold walking back and forth to class. Thanks!
Sounds like her feet run cold. These boots are suppose to be waterproof although my wife never tried out exactly how waterproof they are. Water resistant yes, but waterproof I'm not sure. These wouldn't be too bad, but you might consider looking at something from the Sorel line. They tend to be insanely warm and very waterproof.Hope that helps.
I'm so disappointed in these boots. They run VERY narrow. The lenght was great-true to size. Sad that I have to send them back cuz they're really cute!
Given the lack of choice, both product and colour, in Australia for apres boots, I found the Bella Alta on Back Country.
I requested sizing advice, forwarding my measurements, and it was suggested that I order the 7.5. When they arrived I was so excited (they're beautiful) and the sizing recommendation was spot on.
I tried them out last week in the ski fields and they are toasty and oh so comfortable.
The first thing I must say is these boots were so warm after being outside in 27degrees for 7 hrs, my feet were the warmest thing on my body. if you are into style and comfort the Bella Alta boot are a must have.
Let me start by saying I like these boots a lot. The only weird part is that many reviews that I read on line say they run small. I took a chance and ordered my usual size 8 and they are a bit too big! If they were a little smaller I think they'd be perfect. I wear them on long walks w/my dog in the woods and they are basically comfy but unfortunately my feet move around in them more than I would like. Love the looks and for basic around town stuff they are great.
This shoes is sooo nice and warm.I hope NF can make one just like it but taller. i got this yesterday and wore it today and it is cold and wet outside, and my feet is dry and warm.
I really wanted to love these boots. I bought them in "moonlight ivory" and "black/charcoal." I normally wear a size 9, but ordered a half size up based on recommendations here. They were so big I could flip them off my foot. Not good. The boots were also too short. I wish they were a little taller, if that makes sense. The ivory boots pick up the color of my jeans, leaving them with a blue tinge. The black boots don't look like the posted picture. There is no white stitching- it is all black. I was hoping for the white stitching to make it a bit more fun. When these boots are worn with my black North Face Arctic Parka, I just look like a blur of black. Back to the drawing board.
