The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister - 300cu in

The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister's ultra-durable TPE fabric withstands the abuse of a month-long roadtrip or five-day approach to the base of a mountain. Its compact size works great for stashing those fragile items that you don't want to cram into your giant duffel. Load up The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister, use the external daisy chains to secure it to your burro, and relax knowing that your gear will get there in once piece.

Bottom Line: The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister—just like a big, burly duffel bag (except a bit smaller).

I love this bag! It has 4 pockets one of them is zippered (the one on the lid). The material is tougher than nails. Would recommend it to any one. One of The North Faces better products!

Decent Medkit

By:

I use this bag (green, with a white electrical tape corss on the lid) for my expedition medkit.

It's a great size for small and mismathced items. The closure - while nowhere near submersion-proof - will keep out all the rain you like: a partially-taped zip sits under a flange on the lid. Inside, there's a lid pocket and two side pockets. I've found that this configuration is great for keeping small tools, bandages &c secure while leaving the larger and bulkier items (splingting supplies, gauze, B/P cuff) in the middle. It could - perhaps - do with a few more pockets, but that complaint is mainly due to my use.

The handles are good, sturdy and the right length. The shoulder strap allows the bag to be worn at the hips or accross the back. The daisy-chain is useful not only for attaching this to other bags, but for attaching small pieces of kit to the outside, or hanging the bag near the top of a pack without loosing it.

Overall, this is a very useful little bag, which should be able to handle whatever you put inside it, and whatever you throw at it, even in wet conditions.

has anyone seen the old version of this it kind of looked like

has anyone seen the old version of this it kind of looked like a bouldering chalk bucket made of vinyl? I saw it once at a TNF outlet and have been kicking myself ever since for not getting it.

I bought two of these, a few months apart. One for my toothbrush, toothpaste, contact lens stuff, comb, and stuff and the other i use to keep small items from roaming around my pack- flashlight, batteries, knife.... Its a little bigger than a nalgene bottle.

There is no way this is 5 Liters. It's about 2/3 the size of a 2 liter bottle of soda.

The bag is well constructed but i would not recommend it for a 2 week long trip. It is too small.
