The North Face Apex Mckinley Softshell Jacket - Men's

Stand up to gnarly, windy conditions with The North Face Men’s Apex Mckinley Softshell Jacket. Whether you’re on pitch five or hanging around town, this windproof jacket’s fleece lining and stretchy shell fabric provide just enough warmth and weather protection. And with its recycled Apex ClimateBlock fabric, the Mckinley Softshell also has a soft spot for the environment.

Bottom Line: Eco-friendly wind protection.

Great Jacket

I've had this jacket for a few years now and I love it. It's definitely not a real cold-weather jacket...if it were real cold out you'd want to layer a sweater or fleece underneath it. I use it mostly around town. It's pretty heavy for the amount of cold / rain protection it offers (minus 1 star) but is great for those gray rainy days in the 30s - 40s (which here in Seattle is pretty much every day). I also use this skiing under my hard shell. The combination of the two work great down into the 20s.

Is anyone able to compare this jacket in terms of the material

Is anyone able to compare this jacket in terms of the material stiffness and or general warmth and performance against the MH Alchemy?

Perfect Early Season Jacket!

By:

This jacket is perfect for fall and some winter days in the southeast U.S. It repels water very well and completely cuts the wind out. The jacket is thin and very lightweight to me. The fit is very comfortable with a thin fleece type later inside and in the pockets. I would recommend this jacket to anyone.

Love this jacket

Just right for all but the coldest days. I put a fleece layer under the jacket and sat through a high school soccer game in the 40's that rained the entire game. Most of the game I had no umbrella. The water ran right off. The jacket has a sleek, sporty look with a thin fuzzy liner and not the bulk of heavy fleece. It is light enough to wear inside for sport shows, shopping, etc. Inside the jacket are two large pockets for gloves. The side pockets are lined and feel good on bare hands. If the credit card statement comes and goes without my wife seeing the price, it will be a perfect purchase.
