The North Face Apex Bionic Thermal Softshell Jacket - Women's

The North Face Women's Apex Bionic Thermal Softshell Jacket may have a fancy techy name, but don't let that fool you: the jacket's effect is quite simple. The Apex Bionic jacket keeps you warm, dry, and impervious to wind and moisture. A sporty-sleek athletic cut and stretchable fabric let you run, ski, and hike without restraint, while high-loft fleece lining offers the insulation that makes this thermal jacket worthy of its' name. The cuffs and hem cinch neatly, keeping Old Man Winter outside your happy warm space.

Bottom Line: The North Face Apex Bionic Thermal Softshell: it's soft, and it's a shell between you and the elements.

What is the difference between the thermal and non-thermal version of this jacket? Is it worth the extra $50??

Hi Abbie - The Bionic Jacket has light fleece backing on the interior of the jacket, while the Bionic Thermal has a high loft fleece on the interior. You get extra warmth with the high loft fleece, but it is probably the feel of it that makes it popular.... it does have a really nice feel to it.
Hope this helps

Review Title

Fit is fine (XS for someone 5'3", 105 lbs), and I love how long the sleeves are. But the jacket is short and the neck is very stiff; gets in my hair or irritates my neck unless zipped up all the way. Had to return.

I am looking to get my girlfriend a solid rain/wind proof jacket

I am looking to get my girlfriend a solid rain/wind proof jacket for work (she is an athletic trainer at the high school in town). How does this jacket match up against the others on the market. I have one of these jackets, the non-thermal one, and love it, just wondering on other peoples thoughts

thank you for your time

Great jacket

By:

I love the apex thermal jacket. It is very sporty looking and warm. The thermal lining on the inside is very soft and comfortable. I like everything about this jacket, however, I would have preferred a different color than moonlight ivory. I like my white's to be bright white. You can't go wrong with this jacket.

I love this jacket. It keeps me warm on a cold windy day. And the shipping was fast, and the customer service is great. I did online chatting with the customer service, and he was so helpful. I do lots of online shopping and will come back to this store!

Is this jacket longer in the back than it is in the front? I know the regular apex bionic is like that so I was wondering if this one was?

No this jacket is not like the regular apex in how it is shorter in the front than in the back. I bought the regular apex for my girlfriend and she didn't like that so I bought this one and it is great!!

awesome

I got this jacket and I absolutely love it! It's great for cold or cool weather and is very comfortable. The pockets are a great size. It's definately worth the money. The only thing I would be careful of is if you need it in a hurry. I ordered it for 2-day shipping, which should be renamed 3-day shipping because it doesn't get to you for 3 days versus the expected 2. So give yourself some time if you are in a time crunch. But it's an awesome jacket =)

Great for outdoor exercise

By:
April 2, 2009

This jacket is great for all of my outdoor sport playing in the early Spring.

I do sometimes feel like the stiff collar is choking me when I'm breathing heavily during exercise but for me that is a pretty normal feeling for any clothing touching my throat - I just turn the collar down and I'm good to go! I'm excited to ski in it next year.
