The North Face Adrenaline Gore-Tex XCR Mid Hiking Shoe - Women's - 2007
The North Face Adrenaline Gore-Tex XCR Mid Hiking Shoe eats up the trail with superior traction and superior comfort. The Adrenaline unites elements from trail running and hiking shoes to provide a light and supportive hiker. The combination mesh/leather upper requires almost zero break in time. The Gore-Tex XCR gives you the most breathable laminate available, while making Adrenaline completely waterproof (provided the water isn't knee deep and flowing in the top). These shoes breath so your feet don't drown in river water or sweat. The Adrenaline's full TPU shank protects your feet from rock and other pointy and hard bits on the trail. The Trail Grip rubber outsole has just the right combination of stickiness and lugginess to tackle a wide variety of conditions, and the gusseted tongue and for-women-by-women last design will keep you comfortable. Hit the trail hard and fast with the North Face Adrenaline hiking shoes.
Bottom Line: The Adrenaline is pumping and the trails are calling, time to go.
The shoes have good support and are pretty comfortable. They are also roomy which is good because a lot of The North Face shoes run small. I ordered a half size up to make sure there is room for thick socks and foot swelling, and there is plenty of room. My only complaint is they are a weird height. They hit right at the tibia and rub on the bone which is annoying until you get used to it. They should be taller and completely cover the ankle to best avoid ankle rolling on rocky hikes. I thought they were going to be taller based on the picture. Otherwise they are nice shoes, though I like my Columbia's from last year better.-
It was very disappointing that these boots are NOT waterproof as advertised. I took them snowshoeing on not very deep snow, and got my toes completely socked while my heels were very much dry. Other than that, they are very comfortable, and I was very happy to have brought them along on a 24-mile day hike this weekend.
The quality in workmanship is poor on these shoes. The one shoe has some sort of seam that digs into the bone on the big toe area to the point that after 8 hrs I have to get the shoe off to get the feeling back in my foot. I have taken them to a shoe cobbler to stretch the width thinking that would help and it didn't. Thin socks only make this shoe wearable for 8 hrs.
The shoes are great! I have really wide feet and these are very forgiving. I've used them mostly as walking shoes -I was in Russia in January and not on rough terrain, but very cold, wet conditions. My feet stayed warm and comfortable after hours of walking. Not as comfortable as tennis shoes, but definitely worth what I paid.
These shoes are great for everyday waterproof mud shoes. They are comfortable for regular everyday duties, but also give enough support for hiking. They are waterproof so you don't have to worry about trekking through the puddles. They aren't too bulky, light enough for hanging around, sturdy enough for day hikes.
My baby toe on my right foot gets blisters from the shoes and it is not good when you step in snow because you lose all traction. Definitely seems to be a mild weather hiking shoe and used with plenty of band-aids.
I am very happy with my new hikers. They really perform on rugged hikes and maintain ankle stability. I would recommend these to others who enjoy the outdoors and hiking on various types of terrain.
Good arch support, very lightweight and flexible. They are a bit too short in the toes for me to wear them hiking. I turn to my Vasque boots for hiking, but use these for yard work and walking the dog.
The first time I wore these shoes was on a 5 mile hike and they didn't even need breaking in, they were already 10x more comfortable than any other hiking shoe I've owned. They are lightweight and attractive, at least for hiking shoes. I'd buy them again.
These boots are nice, they are very well made and I am sure that they would perform on any hiking trail. However, they are very narrow and I was unable to keep them. I replaced them with the XCR Pynyon which are a little bit shorter than the Adrenalin, yet wide enough for me.
