The North Face Women's Aconcagua vest is perfect for low-bulk layering when unrestricted mobility is a must. Thanks to lightweight, long-lasting 550-fill down, the Aconcagua Vest keeps your core cozy season after season. Pull your weatherproof shell over the Aconcagua Vest and enjoy a day on the hill or out in the backcountry. The brushed internal collar won't chafe your chin, and front pockets keep your hands warm when you're wearing The North Face Aconcagua down vest on its own.
Bottom Line: Put The North Face Aconcagua Vest at the core of your expeditions.
I am leaving for Alaska in 2 weeks and wanted to get a vest for the trip. This was the perfect option - not as bulky and warm as the Nuptse and great for layering. I do have to agree with someone else's review that says the pocket linings are kind of flimsy. That's not a big deal for me though. Also want to point out that there is an interior pocket that isn't mentioned in the description.
This is the best vest I've ever owned. Perfect weight and warmth for brisk days that you don't want to wear a full jacket. The shiny white is super cute and I love the soft gray collar liner.
I had ordered a Small originally, but found that the vest runs a little bit big, so ended up returning for an XS. The fit is now great and more fitted verses looking more square. It is probably just a preference on how you like for your clothes to fit, but I am 5'5" and of average build. I love the snow white color! Wore it outside the other day in a blizzard and it kept me toasty warm! The collar comes up fairly high on the neck which is great to keep the cold at bay! Looks great, feels great and is very warm!
vest is typical North Face high quality. I have the white and I like the subtle sheen on the outside. The neck collar has baby soft fleece. Pockets are well placed, especially the cell phone/ipod chest pocket. Fit is true to the sizing chart. If you are on the size border, go down it is a little larger than you think. Warmth factor is better than I would have guessed. I wore it in 29 degree weather with just a sweater underneath and I was plenty warm. For $88 this is a must have.
I bought the white vest and liked it so much I ordered the brown vest a few weeks later. The silky finish makes it versatile- making it easy to dress up or dress down.
I have this in brown and black and I wear them constantly since a full jacket is often too warm once you get indoors. The fabric is a bit shiny, which is too overwhelming on the full jacket, but looks cool on the vest. The fabric is durable and the weight is perfect. The quilted look helps you keep from looking too puffy and the fleece lined collar is cozy. I wish I could get a size between medium and large because the medium is more fitted but due to my height, 5' 9" I have to get a large. They should make it in green!
I'm 5'11", 130 lbs., mid B-size cup. I found the small size to fit me best (I usually wear a medium in tees and long sleeves, and a small or medium in sweaters). This vest isn't fitted - like the pictures show, it's cut pretty straight to the hip. The material is satiny, so it slides easily under other layers and looks pretty snazzy. I bought this TNF boxier cut vest so it would fit well over fleece layers for very cold conditions. The down and amount of it in the vest is plenty for cold-weather layering. For urban excursions, I'll probably buy a more fitted (hourglass cut) vest.
I purchased a size small and I was swimming in it. I wear a size 0-2. If this size and ordering, order an XS. Also, the vest has a "glossy" finish. The picture online shows more of a matte finish.
Does anyone have this vest in white? The lining looks grey in the picture, but I've been fooled before - someone on this blog said their lining was brown, but I don't know what color vest they were talking about. Also - it sounds like the sizing might not be true. I'm 5'7 1/2" and 135 pounds - I wear a 38C bra. I would normally buy a large (12-14) because a 12 fits me fine. I will be wearing it under a shell and possibly over a not too thick sweater. Any guidance on this? Thanks
I received my North Face vest today and love it! I ordered it in the snow white, which is a great color! I'm 5'5" and 130lbs. I was debating between ordering a M or a S... and ended up going with the S. Good thing I did because this vest runs big... and even the S has lots of room... I probably could have ordered the XS and it would have fit perfectly. It tends to be a little boxier than the picture shows, but still looks feminine.
This vest is exactly what I thought it would be. Lighter weight than the usual down vests I normally wear but it is stylish - sort of a 'town' vest. Toasty warm, lovely lined pockets and fleecy neck. Go down a size though, as with my other The North Face vest, I could have dropped a size.
I'm looking for two daughters, 12 and 13. They're both 5'6" and measure 33x28x34. One is slightly slimmer than the other. I would normanlly order a small, but will that be too big?
i have been looking for a vest for the longest time but every other one i've tried made me look like a marshmallow. although this one is slimming, it keeps me very warm. like other people, i agree that sizes run large. i usually wear medium and small fits me perfectly. i didn't expect it to be as shiny as it is, but i still love it.
I love it! It is light and warm. It looks puffy but actually not when you're wearing it and it doesn't feel heavy either. I love the satin feel from the outside and soft fleece around your neck. It keeps me warm. Perfect!! Also, customer services was awesome!
I have two of these vests and I absolutely love them. They are warm and repel water pretty well. They also break the wind beautifully and they are quite stylish!!
Great vest. Love the Plume Blue color- shiny but not overpowering in a vest. Good feminine fit. Got a small for my 5'7" slim frame and it fits perfectly -didn't want gaping arm holes. I wear a medium in most jackets for my shoulders but wanted a closer fit in a vest. Warm & attractive alone or even warmer under a coat.
Is there a big difference in the fit size of a women's Aconcague Vest and a man's?? I need an XL for a woman but it's not available so I was wondering if the XL for a man would be the same.
Yes, there's a difference. Check out the size chart on the mens and see if you can figure out what size you would need. My guess would be somewhere around a medium.
The size I got was too big - but when I received a smaller size in a different North Face style it was still too big. Great for layering but not good for my downtown life of shopping and wanting to look stylish while I do it. I cannot speak for it as a piece of gear, I am sure it would have been great for that, but it didn't work for my life.
Is great. Even though I live in Alaska and the temp. has been in the low teens and I have only been wearing my Northface vest. I love the color. Fits great.
Two questions...I'm 5'7 1/2"..135 pounds. 39" chest. I usually wear a size 12. Should I go large or medium? I'll be wearing it around town under a shell - I don't want it too baggy. Also - what color is the lining on the white one? I'm returning a Winter White Mountain Hardware Downtown Down vest because when I called to find out the color of the lining, someone there told me it was grey. When it arrived, I could see that it was clearly brown. So...women are not usually prone to color blindness...could one of them have a look for me? Thanks.
I have the white one. It has a light grey lining. I usually wear Medium in outerwear but this vest runs a size big. I ordered a medium and returned it for the small (which is stil plenty big). I think for your measurements- definitely go with a medium.
I bought this for my daughter who is petite. It fits perfectly and looks awesome Not too long at all. She loves the silky finish because it doesn't look like everyone else's vest.
North Face is the hottest apparel on the market and I was a little behind in my Christmas shopping...I'm thankful I found this site and this Light Blue NF Vest is simply beautiful on my girlfriend.
I love my new vest. I ordered the Nuptse as well to see which one i preferred, and I sent that one back. At 550 down fill, it keeps you warm and still allows for a more flattering fit where the Nuptse was a little more "stay-puff marshmallow" fit. The shiny finish gives it a little more flare and attitude as well. The sizing advice is right on, order one size smaller. I'm 5'11" and 135lbs and medium fits well.
Love the vest. I am 5'10 and medium fits me perfectly. I did balk a little at the international postage prices but this was offset quite significantly when my parcel reached me in New Zealand a mere three days after I ordered it. Awesome smooth transaction, great communication - BRILLIANT service.
I'm from australia, and am usually a size 10-12, I measure chest 36" 92cm, hip 40" 102cm, waist 33" 84cm and neck 13" 33cm and was wondering what size I should get?? a Small or Medium... Some people have said the sizes are generous, so should I get a small??
Yes North Face runs a little larger but not a entire size. According to your measurement you are on the larger side of meduim in the chest and a large in the hips. If you got the small it would likely be snug around your hips.
I love this vest. I have it in 'Plume Blue'. A very stylish warm vest. I love internal deep pocket - North Face gives lots of thought to the convenience details. Thanks! My husband loved it so much that I got him a men's version of the vest. Men's version is just as great
In response to the person that said it was too long for short people, I disagree...my daughter and I are 5'0 and 5'2 and we have this vest in medium and they fit us PERFECT!! The Plume Blue vest is an awesome color.
This is a great vest for warmth and has a good around town style too it. It is a fitted style so make sure to account for that style fit. The 550 down is a good versatile weight for warmth without being too hot.
This is a great vest; feels puffy, but is still slimming. The best part is the soft pockets and chin liner. The stitching is unique in a feminine way, and the shiny fabric looks great.
We bought this vest for our sports team, and had it embroidered, and every girl on the team adores it. The other teams we compete with whisper about how pretty the vests are and we love that! One athlete said, "I've never gotten so many compliments on anything in my whole life."
I have Aconcaqua vest in black and it's become a staple in my winter and early spring wardrobe! The fit is great and it's not too bulky, it's great for casual wear as well as spring skiing.
