The North Face Aconcagua Down Jacket - Girls'

Your girl’s ski jacket isn’t super-warm for walks downtown, and besides, the powder skirt and all fifty pockets get in the way. The North Face Girls’ Aconcagua Down Jacket has 550-fill down and a smooth taffeta lining without bulky pockets and slope-specific add-ons. The DWR finish deals with flurries, and front pockets come in handy when she forgets her gloves at home.

  • Compatible with The North Face zip-in and snap-in shells

Bottom Line: Down for casual days.

Is this jacket warm enough for the cold weather? It seems thin for a down jacket.

Hi - I really depends on what type of cold weather you are talking about. I live in Salt Lake, and a 550 fill jacket is just fine here unless you spend a ton of time in the mountains around here, in which case I would probably bump up to a 700 fill jacket. If you are in a colder climate, I might check out one of the following for a little extra insulation:
-The North Face Destiny Down Jacket
-The North Face Nuptse Jacket
-The North Face Amore Down
-The North Face Helicity Down Jacket

I think any of these would be good options for something with more down insulation that the Aconcagua Jacket.
Hope this helps-
