Teva used recycled materials in constructing the Women's Makayla Shoe to create a comfortable, casual flat you can feel good about. The Makayla Shoe's PET canvas lining is made out of recycled soda bottles, while its grippy rubber outsole comes from recycled rubber. Teva used a full-grain leather upper for style and comfort, and an elastic strap closure for easy entry and exit. The Makayla Shoe's insole molds to the curves of your foot for a super comfortable and stable ride.
Bottom Line: Your feet will feel great in the Teva Makayla Shoe, and your conscience will feel even better.
The detail images of the black/olive shoe are a completely different color than the color image of the black/olive shoe, and they each show a different elastic closure. Which is closest to the model that you are selling?
Comfortable shoes, however, the 'Slate Black' is not even close to black or grey. I thought I received the wrong shoes because they are brown. I did not receive the wrong pair 'Slate Black' is brown according to this scale. I decided to keep the shoes even though the color was not what I expected.
My wife's pair didn't seem to run overly wide. I would say they were average width. They're definitely not slim. Some slimmer shoes are Patagonia's and some or our favorite are El Naturalista in on backcountry.com.
Love them! They stand out on being funky and fun! They are very comfortable, the fit is perfect. TEVA makes really well made products! Thanks Backcountry!!
I loved these shoes and they seemed like they would be very comfortable. The problem is the elastic strap was extremely tight and not adjustable. I had to send them back. Darn!
These shoes are like walking in slippers. Also, as a bonus, they look great. I can wear them to work (we are business casual) and with a pair of shorts or pants on the weekend. I agree with one reviewer that the strap is tight but that seems to give a little within a couple times wearing them. A superior shoe and a great and environmentally conscious company.
I had a pair of these that were worn 90% of the time or more, for a year & a half straight, a harsh winter with a lot walking, and a very hot summer with quite a bit of walking. They have shown wear, but stayed in one piece. The only downfall they had, was in the fastener for the button. One shoe it snapped on, but it looks like the new designed had reinforced that, using a much thicker woven fastener.
I bought a pair of Teva Makayla Shoes a while ago. I loved the shoes, they are really good quality, very comfortable and eco-friendly. This were my first Teva, so to make sure I had the size right, I checked the sizing chart and I compared the size in CM with a pair of Keen I bought before. My Keen size 8.5 are 25.4, so if you check the sizing chart for Teva, you will see that 25.4 cm is actually size 9, so I get size 9, but it turns out the size 9 is actually almost 28 cm, so they are too big for me, I should have bought not even 8.5 but 8 instead. In conclusion, I can say that the shoes are great, but the sizing chart here is wrong, so be aware of that. I also agree that the elastic strap is extremely tight and since it is not adjustable that's a problem.
