Tecnica Attiva Pro Ski Boot - Women's - 2007

The Tecnica Women's Attiva Pro Ski Boot leads the charge in Tecnica's women's-specific line, killing it with a stiff 100 flex and an aggressive need-for-speed shell design. The Attiva last design cradles women's feet using a narrow heel pocket and wide forefoot for optimal women's-specific fit and performance. Tecnica's Pro Lite thermo-moldable liners wrap your foot up for awesome customized performance from the first day you step on the mountain. The Attiva Pro lights it up on the slopes thanks to the triple-density shell construction's amazing ability to precisely transmit power and force straight into your ski for exact edging and super-tight control.

Bottom Line: The Tecnica Women's Attiva Pro Ski Boot gives new meaning to ‘ladies first.'

I am an intermediate skiier with somewhat narrow feet. I tried on the Technica Attiva Pro 80 and they still felt a little wide at the front of the foot. They were fine at the heel and calf. The ski shop put in a super feet liner for me. The Attiva Pro 90 fit was narrower and fit better in the front, but I don't want such a stiff, advanced boot. Any suggestions?

As comfy as Tecnica boots are, if you have a narrow foot you may want to look into Lange/Rossi (same shell) boots. Check out the Rossi B-Pro 90 Sensor3 Ski Boot. Lame-o name, I know. But it has a narrower last than these Tecnicas and we still have plenty of sizes in stock. Oh, and don't pay tooooo much attention to the flex rating on ski boots as they aren't consistent from brand to brand. Anything between 80 and 100 will be perfectly fine for a self described intermediate. It's at 100 and above that boots start to get noticeably stiff. Beware of cranking down on your forefoot buckles to take away space in a too-large toe box as that is the number one way to make your feet unnecessarily cold. It'll mess with your circulation. Also, if your boot is too roomy anywhere, you may find yourself skiing backseat more often than you'd like. Who needs that? Here's the link to that boot:

Good luck and shred 'till it's gone!

The stiff boot will in the future help you out a lot, and it will also help you progress. The 80 would be good for now, but as you progress, then you would want an upgrade anyway. If you have the money to renew gear as you do get better, then get the intermediate flex, and just crank the toe box buckles. If not, go for the stiffer flex and better fit.

I'm looking for a boot for someone with big calves....any thoughts. Most of the boots I have had in the past just hurt after 1/2 day on the slopes...

Are you sure your calves are too big or are you just getting some serious boot-bang? Before buying new boots, particularly these technicas that are made for a higher level skier, I would take the boots I have into the shop and have a proper fitting and lesson on how to avoid boot-bang. You also might want to have your insoles checked out. I would definitely do that stuff before investing in another pair of boots just because they hurt. If the guys at the shop cant help, then you might want to look into other boots.
