The North Face Denali Thermal Jacket - Women's - 2008
The North Face Women's Denali Thermal Jacket takes the Denali's time-tested design and improves it with Polartec Thermal Pro high-loft fleece. Thermal Pro fleece gives you incredible warmth but without the bulk of traditional fleece, so it packs easier. The long-fiber fleece dries quickly to minimize heat loss if you should happen to get it wet during a fall hiking trip. The North Face Denali Thermal Jacket has a regular fit, flattering cut, and the unmistakable Denali style. This jacket zips into compatible The North Face shells.
Bottom Line: Just when you thought the Denali couldn't get any better, The North Face introduces the Denali Thermal Jacket.
Nice jacket, but quality is not like the ones in the store that I saw. Fur like quality is very light not thick. Store was much nicer, but didn't have my daughters size so I order from your company. Maybe Northface is changing material being used, if so they should maybe let consumers know of this quality. When paying these prices you should get what you want. It was to late to return, I need this gift for x-mas. Next time will research more and purchase where I can see item.
I'm 5'5 and 115 lbs. Will I fit in a xs. I have a regular northface denali jacket in size small. It is a little big on me. how much shorter will the xs be compared with the S. I'm just worried that xs might be too short for my torso.
I am thinking the XS is going to be a little small. You might want to check out The North Face Scythe Jacket - it is a similar fleece, but is cut more trim than the Denali Thermal Jacket. I think the small is going to fit you better-
I love the look of my jacket but, it is not that warm. I have to wear a hoodie under it. Jacket is good for a fall/spring day. My fleece NF is much warmer.
I have read many reviews on how soft, even "cuddly" this product is but not how warm it is. If you are looking for a great performing "thermal" jacket, this is not it. The wind cuts right through it and it really is not that warm comparatively to similarly priced products made from merino, micro fleece, or even 2 base layers of some of the newer thin base layers . I am all about style but a product has to perform and this one just falls short.
Great fit, plenty of room. Not quite as warm as I had hoped, but layering makes up for it. I love the furry high collar, very soft. I am happy I bought it.
http://www.backcountry.com/store/TNF1556/The-North-Face-Denali-Fleece-Jacket-Womens.html?It's not the thermal one, but it is currently available in white in XL.
I have purchased a total of four North face coats/jackets for my Grand daughters. One in College in Long Island, NY and a very cold place. All Jackets are 5 star...Gear heads are all top notch. exchange on one went very smooth Frank Borrelli
I read other reviews that this jacket was not very warm, but I still bought it. Well, they were right. It's very soft and looks nice, but if you're looking for a warmer weight, as the "denali thermal" name suggests, this is not it. I ended up returning the coat and purchasing a regular denali, which I love! Backcountry is great, though. Returns are very easy.
I got it in white, i definitely get compliments on it, In usually layer it with a vest or its perfect for fall. Its not like the OSO but it has its own charm. Overall I will end up layering it like every other fleece I own in the winter and will wear it by itself during the spring and fall. I'm hoping it will keep me warmer than some of my other cheaper fleeces. About the wind- i live next to a lake in upstate NY, we get lots of snow and lots of wind. I can wear it alone in the fall when it gets really windy and still be warm going from point A to point B. I wouldn't walk outside for an hour in just this but probably 30mins
Overall Pros: -soft & cuddly -good quality (even though it looks flimsy it really does keep you warm for what it is) -respectable brand
Cons -can't wear it alone in the winter months unless you're going a short distance - haven't tested it in the snow to see if the material holds up
This "thermal" jacket couldn't keep you warm on a warn day. The wind goes right through it!! The fur parts of the jacket look as if they are going bald and rain........this jacket WILL NOT keep you dry. Hated that I paid $90......atleast I didn't have to pay $180. Horrible jacket. It would be worth it to get it at a retail store where it is made with the actual fleece fur and costs $199. I DO NOT recommend this jacket to anyone. Looks good but doesn't do what they claim it does like keep you warm.
I got this in the winter white and I absolutely love it...it is so soft that you can't stop touching yourself! It is very warm, maybe not as warm as the denali fleece but pretty close.
I loved my denali thermal jacket. It is light weight but very warm. I took it to the north highlands of the Andes Mountains and it was perfect. Temps were between high 60s to low 70s in the day and would drop quickly once the sun dropped behind the mountains into the low 40s to mid 30s. It packed well and required little space. Would highly recommend.
i do not agree with this, i live in wisconsin, its pretty flippn cold here and this jacket is great for looks, a nice fall jacket, but far too thin and drafty for the harsh winter
