The North Face Milletan Triclimate Jacket - Women's - 2008
If you're nosing around for a three-in-one jacket that'll keep you dry in winter storms and that won't look out of place with your twintips and hucking style, grab The North Face Women's Milletan Triclimate Jacket. The shell's fully taped seams and HyVent 2L fabric snort at moisture, while the Underarm zips let you cool off when you hike out of the gates. The North Face gave the three-in-one Milletan Jacket urban style that looks smooth in the park. The snap-in liner adds synthetic insulation to this jacket. Wear the shell alone on spring days, and sport the liner into town.
Bottom Line: A three-in-one that's not afraid of park runs.
This was a really nice jacket that I had splurged on for myself. It fits very well while being quite stylish and feminine too. I'm 5'2 and medium build and the medium fits me just right. It keeps me pretty warm but I haven't been able to test it in really cold weather yet. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the liner. I got the white one and the brown striped liner is a little too loud for me to wear alone. Would've been nice if it were solid brown. Other than that I'm very satisfied with this purchase, thanks backcountry!
Couldn't decide on a jacket to buy and I needed something reliable and comfortable and ideal for the brutal cold winters in jersey. I also wanted something different but subtle. When I saw this at one of the North Face outlets in the city, I just couldn't leave without it! However they didnt carry my size =[. I gave in to looking for other styles and I eventually gave in to whatever i can get, i got desperate. But nothing compared to it. I wasn't satisfied, I just fell in love with the triclimate so much. Despite the hefty price (totally worth it), i ordered it online at the north face website (however it didnt offer free shipping, even if my purchase was well over $100) so I pulled a few strings and found backcountry.com and sure enough they do offer free shipping on orders over $50. So after a few weeks i received the jacket in the mail I wear it everywhere and i plan to for the next couple of years. What won me over was that it wasn't a heavy jacket but it kept you well protected against those brutal winds. And aside from it keeping you warm, the second shell is removable, so if i ever got too hot or needed a separate jacket, three easy removable strap was all you needed to remove... big convenience. Another big feature is the powder skirt. I do from time to time go snowboarding and i always had trouble pulling my shirt down all the time so thats a plus. Aside from the million pockets and appealing pattern, there's a million reasons why i love this jacket so much. I definitely dont regret buying it, it was a very practical purchase.
Yes. There is a removeable fleece which looks good on its own and has its own pockets. Works well with jeans. Fits true to size and rests at the waist level (not as long as the jacket itself).
Bought the Icy Blue coat for my newlywed wife (just married!) for Christmas, and we had the opportunity to test it out while skiing at A-Basin in Colorado last week. Very happy with overall performance. Outer layer fabric is strong and won't easily tear. Pockets are useful and intelligently placed. Inner removeable liner is a nice plus and looks good. Pit vents and snow skirt also helpful. Size fits true -- my wife is 5'4" and the small fit well. Highly recommended product.

I purchased this jacket in the white/brown combo, and it is gorgeous! The white is very chic, and the brown plaid liner adds a bit of interesting pattern. The overall styling is oversized while still being fitted. I am 5'2" and 160lbs, and ordered the large, and it fits great - loose without being bulky. The arm length runs a little long. My old TNF snowboard jacket was a medium, and it fit great on top but was tight on the bottom, but this larger jacket has room for bulky sweaters underneath without making me look huge. The brown color matches my Bittersweet Brown Freedom pants perfectly. It's a very modern color combo.
Here are my gripes:
Even though the arms are a little long, they are ok. I'm having a difficult time with one of the cuffs...I'm tightening it so the sleeves don't go past my hands, but the cuff is rubbing on my wrist, so it's very annoying. It's too bad that TNF makes pants in short, but doesn't make petite jackets.
The inner liner does seem a little loud to wear by itself, but I paired it with a white scarf and brown pants, and that toned it down alot. It doesn't zip into the liner, it only snaps in the back and the sleeves. I would prefer if the liner zipped in so it won't bunch up underneath the jacket. Also, the liner is a taffeta, not a fleece like most other TNF liners. Seems warm, but it may not be warm enough.
The pit zips are really hard to zip and unzip. Also, the liner doesn't have pit zips, so if you have the liner on, the pit zips on the jacket would have minimal benefit. My old jacket had zips on both the shell and the liner.
You can use a different liner, but keep in mind that it won't zip into this jacket.
I will probably keep this jacket because its so gorgeous, unless that cuff drives me insane, in which case I will send this jacket back.
This jacket is the best. I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't familiar with the cold. I'm from Texas, so I need the ultimate insulator. The jacket fitted perfectly on me. Kept me extremely warm and dry throughout my day. So if you're debating whether you should get it, get it!! =)
I bought this coat in black for a ski trip to vermont and it suited me perfectly! it kept me super warm in the -20 weather on the slopes and held up and kept me dry on the wet days too. the fit is great, im 5'5 and 117lbs and usually buy xs tops from northface, but i went for the small and was glad i did. the inner liner was a little short on me, but i have a long torso. i was surprised that the plaid innner liner had a brown stripe in it, but it looks great. overall, this coat met every expectation i had....super warm, fantastic fit, stylish and classic. I love it!
What a great jacket! Very warm, nice quality, and worth the price! Should last me for many years to come and looks good with almost anything, too. I would definitely recommend to a friend!
