The North Face Baker Delux Jacket - Women's - 2008
The North Face made the Women’s Baker Delux Jacket with a houndstooth pattern. What does this hound hunt? The un-tracked great white. Pull on the Baker Delux, secure the snap-back powder skirt, attach the removable faux-fur trim onto the hood, close the Underarm zips, and get after the freshies. While your twintips float across the slopes, this jacket’s fully taped seams and HyVent fabric fight flurries. Light insulation in the body and sleeves works with your warm ski underwear on mid-winter days.
Pros: 1) Dense insulation warm and breathes, without any of the bulk.
2) fur zips off hood & hood zips off entirely so it can look like a regular winter jacket for running errands. Bungie adjuster in back of hood too.
3) Pockets are fab, outside velcrow pockets mean you can carry small wallet, phone, loose cash w/o unzipping. All zippers have leather pulls. Hand warmers are at par. Small zipper on sleeve has the google cloth & can store chap stick there too. Goggle pouch inside + inside media pocket are adequate. When it's frigid, I'm loving that the generous sleeve length is long enough to seal up over my gloves.
4) Flap over main jacket zipper uses velcrow = easy to access zipper. Only one snap on the outside at the bottom the the flap, which I rarely use.
5) Houndstooth pattern has a matte-finish, very attractive. I bought the brown & received numerous complements. Pockets give it a stylish, military look.
Cons: 1) Sleeves seem somewhat long and I'm 5'8", forces arm-pit vent zippers way into my armpits. So when I'm running 'round town, I usually roll the sleeves up one or twice.
2) I bought a large to accomodate my broad shoulders, so now the powder skirt ends-up being looser than I prefer.
3) Powder skirt does NOT zip out, but isn't too bothersome b/c it has lightweight snaps.
4) Flap over main jacket zipper uses velcrow - watch out it will snag your beanie !

Hi, Have been checking your site lately and wondering if you ship to Australia and at what cost. Am interested in the North Face Baler Delux. I think the reviews are cool! Gives your buyers some real life opinions without a hard core sales pitch.
This is the parka of my dreams! Since it's snowboarding gear, the length is longer. The houndstooth design really dresses it up as does the fur without making it look too girly. I get compliments where ever I go! The hood is generous, you can custom fit it to your head or helmet. Gave it a test run in our latest snowstorm on Martha's Vineyard on New Year's Eve--20 degree temps with 40-50mph winds made for conditions well below zero--kept me warm and dry all day and night. I usually have trouble with longer coats fitting in the hip area, so I ordered up a to a large. The sleeves are a bit long (as is with all TNF stuff), but there are velcro adjustments @ the wrists which help with the fit. I got this jacket on a sweet sale, but I would pay full price for it.
Haven't taken her on the slopes yet, but totally love the jacket! Ran errands in it and actually got hot in 20 degree weather! I'm pretty sure it's waterproof too...Leather pulls are nice, plenty of pockets, and I'm 5'9 and M size is perfect - Have room for layering.
My only complaint is the fur on the hood - A little chintzy for the price...Expected it to be a little nicer considering it's a Northface.
Hi,I'm interested in the North Face Baker Jacket, but would like to know if the outer material is shiny or not (I can't figure it out from the picture). Thanks,Anna
I bought this jacket as a gift for my wife and she loves it. It's a nice tappered fit that looks good on, but is still flexible enough to ski or board in. The fur is removable and looks normal without it. It's also got pockets for everything.
