The North Face Freedom Insulated Boot-Cut Pant - Women's
So you want low-riding snow pants that don't have a ton of extra, baggy room in the pant legs. Go for The North Face Women's Freedom Insulated Boot-Cut Pants. These pants combine a low rise, a contemporary boot cut, and a trim, athletic fit around your knees. Fully taped seams work with the HyVent fabric to block moisture while light synthetic insulation adds warmth. The North Face Chimney Venting system pulls air up through mesh in the gaiters and out through the thigh vents so you won't burn up when you're booting uphill or enjoying spring conditions.
Bottom Line: A low rise and boot cut without the ghetto sag.
Due to past experiences with other snow pants, I was worried that I'd be cold on the mountain even with the reviews I've read regarding these pants. But to my surprise, these pants did exactly what I hoped - kept me dry after hours of falling and warm without a base layer. They're perfect for curvy-shaped women. They are so comfortable. I love them! I plan on getting them in black too! I can't wait for winter start up again so I can show off these pants! Without all the reviews, I would have never found such great pants! Thanks Backcountry!
I finally found the perfect fitting ski pant! It has been a long and frustrating journey, but my search is now over. These pants fit a woman's curves in all the right places without feeling tight and constricting while skiing. The waistline falls just below my belly-button, and I have not had any problems with these pants being to low to tuck in baselayers (no snow down my pants yet).
These are not that Low Rising. I would say they are high/Med rising. I bought the xs. They fit perfectly! I am 5'6" and 125 pounds. I love the cargo pocket that is accessable while on the slopes with your jacket on. They are really comfy. I love having the velcro waste cincher on the outside so it doesn't scratch your skin and leave a big gap so cold air gets in if put on the inside. Most pants put the waist cincher on the inside. Way stupid! Thanks North Face! I get really cold on the slopes, so I got the insulated ones for when the temps go into the teens and twenties and will use the regular uninsulated Freedom pant when it gets in the thirties and above. It would be possible to layer under the uninsulated pant with tights and long wool/silk underwear. In fact it might be easier to move around that way. I like having the vents on the outside, I don't know why manufacturers put them on the inside. I'd much rather have cool air come into the outside of my legs then the inside.
I just purchased these for my 21 year old daughter. She is 6'1" and wears a 36" inseam in jeans. We ordered the TNF Freedom Boot Cut pants in Large/Regular because they did not have the brown in longs. They fit very nice, they just touch the ground without her ski boots. I am 5'7" and wear a 32"-33" inseam and they are too long on me; I am stepping on the legs.
These are the best ski pants I have found yet. I am 5"7/ Size 8 and the Medium fits perfect! I wear mine with a light base layer in 10-20º F and am completely comfortable. And they look good - no sacrificing form for function with these pants!
Interested in the Freedom insulated boot-cut pant in a brown, the only brown shown is weimaraner brown, on The north face's website available options are root brown and bittersweet brown. Where does weimaraner fit in?
The Weimaraner brown are a lighter brown. If you have seen the white TNF jacket with the plaid in the neck and facing the weimaraner is the lighter of the brown plaid. They are more of a rich color, darker taupe. I would consider it a more feminine looking brown. If you are trying to match a lighter brown do not order the GoGo Pants in New Taupe. That is a olive green taupe color. Real bad color up against brown.
I bought these pants in black after finding that regular ski pants have the tendency to be baggy and ill-fitting. These pants fit great, provide excellent warmth without making you sweat and are overall my favorite winter ski gear. The pockets and the ventilation system are easy to access and use even with ski gloves on and the velcro sides make it easy to adjust for a perfect fit with numerous sweaters or anything else you want to wear while hitting the slopes! I just went ahead and bought a second pair. They are definitely worth it!
Can I get the the North Face Freedom Insulated Boot-Cut Pant - Women's - in Seedling Green in a Small LONG? I don't see that option in your sizing chart. Thanks
I love these pants! They are a great price, a great fit and the colors are fantastic. The green is not too bright... I think it's perfect. They are warm enough for very cold days yet have great vents which keep you cool on warmer days. They have a very flattering fit... not too baggy.
After reading the reviews, I thought that these would fit me perfectly (I'm 4'11"), but they were still a little long without ski boots on. Other than that they were amazing...definitely kept me warm!
These pants are great, the only conplaint I would have is that they are not waterproof. Although after a whole day of snowboarding they were just a bit damp.
I love the way these pants look. They are form fitting and have a little flare at the bottom which looks really cute on the mountain. I am about 5'8 and wear a size 8 long in pants. I have TNF freedom non insulated, non bootcut pants from last year in a medium and they fit me perfectly. I ordered the bootcut in medium and they are tad snug. The large was a bit too big so I kept the medium, but I think they run a little smaller the other TNF products. Just my opinion - I have read the other reviews and no one else seems to have this issue. Maybe I am just a bit curvier then the other reviewers. I do feel they are waterproof and comfortable. Even with the snug fit they are very comfy on the mountain skiing.
These pants are extremely comfortable and warm. They are a bit more form fitting, but allow total range of motion. So much better than the baggier pants.
