The North Face Inlux Insulated Jacket - Women's - 2008
The North Face Women's Inlux Insulated Jacket is the solution for winter days when you need to stay warm but can't afford to get sweaty or wet. The HyVent fabric and fully taped seams block moisture as you tour through winter storms, while the Underarm zips dump excess heat on your way up the hill. A removable hood with lower-face protection keeps your noggin and your chin and mouth dry, and the standard fit gives you room to layer up on really chilly days.
It's good if you are looking for an insulated waterproof shell, but it really depends on what you are going to be using it for. If it is just for pure warmth, the 100 gram insulation package in jacket is not going to compare to something like a 700 fill down jacket (which I would prefer as an around town type of piece). 100 gram is fine if you are will to layer under it on really cold days, and the climate will really determine whether you need that waterproof shell material or not. Where I am in the mountains, it is a dry snow, so the waterproof shell isn't as important to me - my down jacket will keep me warm, and I don't have to worry about it getting too wet in the winter. Hope this helps.
I just received this jacket today and I am so thrilled. I saw this same North Face jacket in a different color at Dick's Sporting Goods for $179.00 and I got the Moonlight Ivory/Igneous Purple at backcountry.com for $89.99. I noticed the price went up this week...Glad I snagged it when I did. I ordered one size up so I could layer underneath with fleece and it's a perfect fit with just enough room. And the color is really nice too. It's a very dark plum. You guys at backcountry.com are awesome! :-)
since i'm not zipping in a fleece would i go with the XS? i have a denali fleece in small, but not sure if this is true to size. i don't want the jacket to be bulky. thanks.
LOVE IT! was looking for a thinner jacket with the warmth, but not sure i'd give this one up. Is slightly bulky, but worth it when you feel the warm fur. Extremely warm, sweater under jacket is not necessary & I have been faced with 8degree temps for the past week.
I can not WAIT for winter to come now! I love the slick look of this jacket. I have always had a hard time finding jackets that fit me and last year alone i bought and RETURNED 3!! None fit quite right! I must say this one will be in my closet FOREVER! I just love it! Bring on the cold and rain! Im ready this year and HAPPY with it! GOOD JOB NORTH FACE!
Can someone tell me if this jacket has a drop back hem (dips down in back), also the arm length from armpit to wrist, and apx. length of this jacket in size med.
The jacket is really nice and warm, but it's a lot smaller than I expected it to be. The length is pretty short so I'd recommend going up a size bigger than what you're normally used to. Great jacket though.
I love my new North Face Inlux Insulated Jacket (like I needed another jacket!) - because the color combination matches the white and gray ski pants that I already had in my wardrobe. The first time I wore it was when we were at Attitash last month and it was extremely cold (temps in the teens and below and windy). I was grateful to have this coat and appreciated the high collar especially while riding those long lifts! It has the fabulous zippered chest pocket that is perfect for my camera. Unlike my Convert coat, the zipper zips up so that the camera lanyard can remain attached and securely around my neck.. Yes, it's bulky but not too much so. In my case I attribute that to getting a larger size than I probably needed.
I really must review this jacket. It is the best jacket ever. Fit well, lots of pockets and I stayed warm. I took it on a cold trip to Africa--out of safari with lots of dirt and sand. When I got home I threw it in the clothes washer and it came out just as good as new. Great produce
I have been looking for the pink and brown inlux jacket all over the internet and cannot seem to find it? Why do they advertise it everywhere if you cant buy it anywhere?
