This coat could not be nicer. I had a VERY hard time finding a warm coat for my asthmatic lil girl which was dark colored, long and WARM, waterproof, washable, dressy or casual, plus, the fur around the face/hood zips off. It took months to find but next year I'll order the Northface in September and get one for me too!

I couldn't have been more happier when I received my purchase. I purchased 2 of The North Face Artic Girls Jackets - one ivory & one brown. Both are very beautiful, light weight, and very very warm. Ounce for ounce, down insulation is warmer. But there are other benefits to synthetic insulation, for example it dries much more quickly than down and is also much cheaper for how much insulation you're getting.
