The North Face Rock 32 Bx Tent 3-Person 3-Season - 2008
Take The North Face Rock 32 Bx Tent on your backpacking trip and comfortable sleep three people. Two-pole support and continuous sleeves ensure easy pitching after a long day on the trail. Two doors let you and your tent-mates get in and out without clobbering one another, and two vestibules offer plenty of room for everyone's muddy shoes. DAC Press-fit aluminum poles provide strong, lightweight structure. Pitch the full fly for open air camping with protection from random rain showers. Match the Rock 32 Tent with the Rock 32 Footprint.
Bottom Line: The North Face Rock 32 Bx Tent—a simple, lightweight shelter for three campers.
This is a high quality tent with fantastic ventilation. Set up quickly and rolls up nice and small. However three person? Not a chance, it is a TIGHT fitting one man and a child tent. I'm rating it a four because Northface should not claim it as a three man tent, its a two thin and small people tent. The high quality is obvious. I returned mine because of the size. By the way Backcountry.com has the best customer service of any online company including Amazon that I have ever dealt with. Use the live chat, you will be surprised how helpful they are. Anything you buy can be easily and QUICKLY refunded. I buy it, try it in the field and if it doesn't meet my expectations they take it back without any hassles, no questions. They make it really easy, right from the website you can print a UPS label and as soon as UPS scans it they start the refund. WOW! Much better than the BS that Amazon puts you through no second party hassle.
I took this tent on a 58 mile float trip and had no problems. It packs small so it was easy to fit in my dry bag with my other gear. The ventilation was good, it was dry in my tent every morning with both my wife and I in it. It rained for a bit one night, but the vestibule kept our stuff dry and the fly kept us dry. overall I really like this tent. However it is like every other tent out there in that they say it is a three person, but lets face it you would only really want to sleep two in it.
Does the Rock 32 Bx have 2 vestibules each measuring 9 sq ft or is it just 1 vestibule measuring 9 sq ft and a second vestibule that just covers the second door? Thanks
I really liked it, i went to RI to do camping by myself by the ocean, and actually i had not prepared to have rain and thunder storm every freaking nights,,,but the good thing was that everyone in the camping site got wet except me:) it is so easy to put it and take it aparts,,,i was by myself and i did not need any help.ventilation is enough big to keep things away from rain and because air circulation is perfect, there was no drops in my tent,,,i was totally dry,,,on the other hand, it is written for 3-person but i do not agree with it,it is suitable for 2,,,of course you can make it for 3. person too but then it would be like a tuna in the can:),,,hope these details would be helpful...
Does backcountry.com match prices? I found the same tent at rockymountaintrail.com for $149.18 w/free shipping. I've bought stuff from you before, so I already have an account set up.Thanks.Steve West
Do a "live chat" which can be found under "contact us" at the bottom of any page. They will hook it up.I used to google for the best price then I realized that teh customer service and the return policy here is worth it.
The Rock32 is easy to pitch and kept us warm. I picked this tent up because I needed something simple and small for me and my two boys. Worked well for us but they're little guys. We'll need something bigger in a few years.
One comes in a box, the other doesn't. Just packaging. Some retailers like the neatness of a box, others like to sell them just in the tent bag. No difference in the product.
I used this in Northern Minnesota on a canoe trip to the Boundary waters. It's a pretty light tent that gave me and my brother plenty of space. Setup was snap which was nice as we moved around a bit during the trip. It's the ease of use, ventilation, space, and the two doors that make me happy.
I just got the tent in the mail. Very quick delivery time. However, I don't see a compression stuff sack noted in your description. All I have is the normal sack that has a drawstring at the top but no way to compress it and keep it compressed. Am I missing something?
Usually with North Face tents it will only come with the storage sack. Their storage sacks, however, have webbing cinch straps on the outside of the sack to reduce the bulk of the pack. Is this what you received?I think this is a bc.com typo. You're not missing anything. You should have a standard stuff sack for your tent. No need for compressing a tent.
good quality basic tent. great for the price. easy to set up, roomy. the only thing i don't like is the mesh near the base of the tent. it provides good ventilation but blows the dust in aswell.
Plenty of room for three people after you decide your sleeping arrangements/assignments/positions. You'll have room enough for a small amount of gear & it has a fully sealed, attenuated floor that wraps around the base & extends approximately 3'' up the wall.
its good quality, light and sturdy, does well in rain although ventilation becomes a bit of a problem then, the upperflaps of the doors only open for a cm or so without letting rain in, also not really a 3 person tent unless you like to tripple spoon, other than that a very good buy
