The North Face XTC Lightweight 1/4 Zip Shirt - Men's - 2008

The North Face Men’s XTC Lightweight ¼-Zip Long-Sleeve Shirt combines bamboo-infused polyester, flatlocked seams, underarm gussets, and a UPF rating of 30 to give you a highly breathable and extremely comfortable protective layer for cool-weather activity. The bamboo-infused polyester helps to wick away moisture and fight microbial funk so you don’t end up with a smelly, sweat-soaked baselayer at the end of every day. The XTC shirt’s underarm gussets and flatlocked seams give you the flexible comfort you would expect from a Flight Series garment.

Bottom Line: A cool-weather base layer for your aerobic pursuits.

Good!

Great underlayer for ski touring and ski mountaineering. Also works well on cool spring mountain bike rides and rock climbing. The quarter zip works great if you are ski touring on the up track and you start overheating.Easy to roll up the sleeves and make it into quasi short sleeve shirt.!

Light base layer

By:

The North Face XTC Lightweight 1/4 Zip Shirt is a decent winter lightweight base layer or summer long sleeve. I wouldn't wear it alone in the fall. It's so lightweight that the seemingly-fragile zipper seems more for style than function. The material is designed to wick perspiration and air will move easily through this shirt without an additional layer.
As noted, the black top does not have red piping on the shoulders as pictured.

Item not as pictured

This item was received today and I was disappointed as it was not as pictured. I wanted the item in the pic. It was black but did not have the red piping on the shoulders as pictured. Instead it had a funky looking silver design on the sleeve. I am very dissatisfied with this switch and I am returning the item

Must Have 1st Layer

There are a ton of different base layers to choose from these days. I really like this piece as the deep zipper is great for venting. Additionally the bamboo charcoal fibers add that nice funk numbing property, unlike your old base layers. Your friends will thank you after a long day of aerobic activity that you upgraded to this 1st layer.

Great shirt for climbing

I bought this shirt for my husband to use climbing. He wears it all the time now. You want to cut back on sun exposure, but it's hard to find long sleeve shirts that you can wear in warmer weather. This is perfect.
