Hmm, carbon (from bamboo) in The North Face Men's Agility Short? Sounds odd, we know. But the biconstituent fiber increases the wicking, quick-drying, and antimicrobial capabilities of these shorts. That means you're dryer, more comfortable, and less stinky on runs. The Agility Short's five-inch or seven-inch inseam gives you a bit more coverage than super-short running shorts, while the breathable liner and mesh panels help cool things off.
Bottom Line: A little carbon goes a long way in The North Face Agility Shorts.
I ended up returning these. I realize I'm in the minority, but I didn't like the cut and the lining wasn't comfortable. Bought 3 different brands, and my reaction was the same to all of them.
Comfortable and light feeling short! Packs well if you are travelling. Also a great short for approaches on summer ski mountaineering objectives. As they mention it is quick drying! And I like the fact I do not feel like I am Borat in A SUPER SHORT, SHORT!
Sure, you can grab the $10 dollar running shorts from your average sporting goods store, but I would recommend spending the extra money and investing in some of these shorts. They're lighter, they'll keep you cooler, and they'll last longer. The quick drying material will wick away sweat make everything much more comfortable.
This is my second pair of these shorts and I couldn't be more pleased with them. They have updated them, changing the brief-liner to a more comfortable wicking layer, taken weight off the short while adding a little more stretch, and adding the long option, which I purchased. I am 6'1 and around 170 lbs and a small long, fits perfectly. Bottom line, these shorts are great for climbing, running, lounging around and most water sports (they dry ridiculously fast!).
I bought it for my husband. He loves it. He had one of those cheaper running shorts and complained a lot about the lining being too tight and uncomfortable. He says that these are just great.
I like having lightweight shorts for running, but I am not "daring" enough to wear those tiny runner's shorts with the slits up the sides. These are really comfortable and light. I love running in them.
