The North Face Women's WindWall 2 Jacket holds back strong wind while still maintaining fleece fabric's excellent breathability. This hooded midweight fleece jacket works great when you wear it alone on the trail or in town, and you can layer it under your ski shell for extra insulation on the slopes. The North Face updated the WindWall 2 Jacket with a softer material to keep you feeling great no matter what you do with your day.
Bottom Line: The North Face WindWall 2 Jacket provides the wind protection you want without the clammy feel of windshirts.
This is one of the nicest hoodies I've ever purchased. I like the fit, the hood that doesn't have strings that get twisted or pull off easily, and the cute zippered pocket on the left sleeve.
The Windfall2 by North Face is warm enough for a cold, breezy day and probably would fit as a base layer under soft shells for weather that is worse.
I absolutely love this jacket. I bought two different wind resistant jackets... this one is hands down the best! I'm thinking about getting a second. Its super comfy and easy to break in. I'm a little taller... and the jacket could be a little longer... but I wear shirts that are longer... not a big deal! I love the jacket!
Not really, it's a pretty rich brown. The detail shots are of a different color jacket, so that's kind of misleading. This jacket is on its way out, which is why there's virtually no selection. If you want this year's colors (and more variety in sizing), just copy and paste TNF4640 into the search bar and you'll get the current model.
I love this jacket. It has a flattering/feminine cut and the fleece is a tighter "knit" than some others which blocks more wind and doesn't hang on to *as much* dog fur as some others (such as the Patagonia Synchilla). I wear it everywhere - indoors and out, as a main jacket on cool days and as a layer under my down jacket on cold days.

Love this, can't say enough about it. It's a great all around jacket to keep around at work or school in case you get chilly...nothing bad to say about it.
Although it's great for everyday 3-season wear, I have actually worn it skiing (Vermont and Utah) and been quite comfortable! Windproof and not bulky, nice long arms. All good!
I believe the XL would fit you. It fits my sister who is a 38DD, and I think that ends up being the same total measurement. It would be a bit tight, probably not a good fit for over a really heavy sweater or multiple layers. But over just a regular shirt, you'd be fine.
I ordered a size small Windwall 2 Hoody and was surprised by the fit, it was roomier than I wanted. The only other North Face piece I have is a TKA 100 Fleece Hoody size small, it is much more fitted. The Windwall 2 is very wind resistant though , and thats what its for. I ordred a North Face Wrap Jacket and ordered a size down, because of a review I read saying it was a performance cut so I hope this helps. This makes a great outer layer on a windy day.
I got the small based on the other reviews saying it is roomy and it is but in a good way - I need this to be a layer and I can wear a tshirt and a thin hoodie underneath it (and probably a thermal) and it fits very nicely over them and still looks fitted, not baggy. I usually wear a small or medium. I got the mission plum and it's a beautiful color.
This jacket was disappointing, I have a 6 yr old midweight fleece from REI and despite how worn down it is, it was way warmer than this jacket. I live in southern california and so I don't know how others are finding this jacket warm, but on a cold rainy day here when I was wearing this jacket I was so cold! And I don't get cold easily. It was almost like I wasn't wearing a nice expensive fleece at all. Also it's not very soft and I found the seams on the arms were uncomfortable, as they were thick, not flexible, and rubbed against my skin. And while it does block the wind better than a true fleece, it wasn't warm at all so I had to return it. I bought a patagonia synchilla instead, it's super warm and blocks some wind (more than my 6 yr old fleece) and I'm much happier with it. the patagonia jacket is also much more flattering as it has a nice waist. Disappointing jacket from the north face!
The jackets blocks wind pretty well but the warmth factor just wasn't enough for me. (I'm the type of person that's always cold though). I find that the jacket works pretty well if I layer it over another warm jacket or sweater.
I got this jacket several weeks ago but only worn it a few times. The reason is because the jacket fits weird on me. I am 5'4" (160 lbs) and the jacket is cut short and wide. I ordered a Large. It doesn't have a feminine cut. The arms comes all the way passed my knuckles. This jacket doesn't keep you warm but it does stop the wind. I would pair it with another fleece for warmth.
I am moving to Eugene, OR and am looking to buy a fleece for warmth and to block wind. Would it be best to buy this and a waterproof shell to battle wind and rain? I just want to know what is best for rain and cold. Please help!!
Yep, it would be perfect. I'm from the Eugene area and it is what I wear all the time. I love the hood just in case it decides to rain when I don't expect it (and it does often!).
I bought this jacket as a gift and now I'm jealous I want one too!! It has great features: hood, zippered front, lots of pockets, warm and just right for the "what next weather" we have in Seattle
This jacket didn't meet my expectations. The material is great, a soft fleece feel. It has a nice athletic fit to it. I was hoping for more shapely fit and it was too short. I returned it and ordered the K jacket. A nice shape to it and stylish to wear around town.
I really enjoy this jacket. It is a great wind stopper, the fit is good, the pockets are generous and easy to get to. I only have 2 small quibbles. 1-The color selections. I like the men's colors better, ie: cardinal red/grey. and 2-I too wish it would cover more particularly the bootie. But, in retrospect, there are not alot of women's jackets this year that are doing that. Hmmm what's up with that? We like our booties warm too! Toward that end I too am asking for the men's Mountan Hardwear Extreme II Parka for my birthday gift just as another woman from a review site has done as well. Together I will then have the best of both worlds...You will enjoy this jacket.
I love mine! I find it very comfortable and have no issues with it rubbing my arms. I think perhaps if you order it too small is may be an issue. I think it is warm (not expecting the warmth of a coat) and definitely blocks the wind. It is NOT a thick jacket and I like wearing it in the car because it is not bulky. I have a fleece i wear when I want a bit more warmth but I like having this one for the hood in case the wind gets bad.VERY HAPPY with my purchase. I wear it whenever I can get it out of my daughters hands!
This seemed to fit true to size. I wear mediums in everything I have, this is a med and fits perfect. It is a super layer under a vest for those days when the rain finally stops but it isn't warm yet. I wear it riding a motorcycle and the windstop works great. It is technical without being gear looking, a great fall and spring jacket.
This is a must have jacket! I can't save enough great things about it. It looks great on, it works great. I lived in Florida my whole life until a couple years ago when I moved to New England. I am ALWAYS cold. This is a perfect lightweight spring/fall jacket that keeps you warm, blocks the brisk wind and even acts water resistant. The sizing is true to chart. I'm 5'10" 125lbs and the small is very roomy! I love mine.
For anyone who works in a building the temperature can be unpredictable at times. This jacket is lightweight enough that it will not add too much bulk to wear inside. Great for cooler weather outside too. I like the texture of the fleece. I thought the color was more vibrant online, but is still okay. A good purchase all around.
This jacket is worth the money. Midweight fleece is perfect for brisk weather and really soft/comfy. The small pocket on the sleeve is a perfect size to fit your ipod/nano or a car key. Great jacket for hiking, camping or just around town. Worth every dime.
I love this jacket but I agree with other reviews - it's bigger than I expected. It's not really snuggly, but it's fabulous for layering - so maybe the extra room is a good?! The hood fits well and I like that the zip goes right up to my neck without choking me. All in all, I'm damn happy
I just cleaned the snow off my car with only a shirt and this jacket on and I was REALLY REALLY warm. I didn't even have a scarf on! I bought this jacket because one of my brother's friends (nicknamed "Teen Wolf") told him to buy the North Face Pamir jacket. Since they don't have it Women's anymore I opted to by this Windwall jacket and it rocks! I highly recommend this jacket! Thanks Teen Wolf!
I always wear a Small or XSmall, I've found in TNF gear I should try Smalls. I am 5'7 and found this jacket too short...just by a couple inches. I should have ordered the Medium, but then I worry that it would be way too baggy....if it weren't for the length, the Small would be perfect.
The small is very roomy so I'm thinking the medium would have been a great outer layer with a baselayer and sweater underneath. The fleece is very warm and wind-resistant and it would be perfect if TNF added two inches to the length.
