The North Face Down Triclimate Jacket - Women's - 2007
Dry down is warm and comfy, but wet down insulates about as well as tissue paper. The North Face Women's Down Triclimate Jacket neatly solves the problem by zipping a 550-fill down coat into a HyVent shell. You can use the Down Triclimate's liner and shell separately or together, which gives you a rain shell, a light down coat, and a hardcore winter storm coat all in one. The down liner compresses small enough to stuff in a pocket of your backpack. Whatever crazy conditions Mother Nature throws at you, The North Face Down Triclimate Jacket has an answer.
Bottom Line: Be ready for wet cold or dry cold in The North Face’s Women’s Down Triclimate Jacket.
Does this jacket run a size larger then normal or small? SOme of the jackets in the north face style; you order a size small. I am right on the boarder between a small and medium.
I purchased this jacket for my girlfriend for Christmas because she had to have a The North Face (fashion I guess). To me, the jacket is overpriced, but she really likes it. I don't think she likes it because of performance, but simply because it is Northface. The jacket is warm, but the down liner seems a little thin for the price. I would recommend the other tri-climate jacket without the liner because I think these are actually a better buy. If you are going to spend $350 on a jacket, you can get a better one than this one.
I bought this 3 in one jacket for a recent trip to Alaska. My daughter wore the jacket all 3 ways on the trip. The white inner liner makes a cute coat by itself. The outer brown coat is great for wind or light rain. The layers are easy to zip in or out. The cut is very figure flattering too with the slight gather in the back of the coat. I would highly recommend this jacket for it's versatility and style.
I just received a black Jacket - women's medium. It does feel a little snug around the hips (I'm not realy fat!!). Is that normal? Also, my I exchange it for the Brown and white jacket? the Brown an White jacket also comes with a hood, correct? How long will it take to get the new one?Thank you
This jacket is perfect for California winter weather. I used the down with it in Yosemite snow recently and it was very nice. I use it daily lately in the bay area rainy winter weather about 30/65 degrees. For less warmth I zip in a North Face fleece that fits perfectly, or I just use the shell. I plan to use it in Tahoe soon and I am confident it will do the job I need it to. Not sure about super cold temps because I haven't gone there with it. Very cute and figure flattering.
does the hood tuck in or just lay outside the jacket. I see a zipper to zip it in and out, but I don't want to take it off... I just want to stash it away somewhere in the collar. Does this jacket have a way to do this??
The jacket of my dreams! I've been looking for years for something that will suit rain, snow, wind, etc. that's a bit more feminine than my old school north face shell, but equally functional. This jacket is cute, great color combo with the choc brown & pink and has awesome details. Will probably pick up the matching pants for skiing.
THIS IS MY GRANDUGHTERS FIRST WINTER IN NORTH DAKOTA AND I'M LOOKING FOR A WARM JACKET FOR HER. CAN YOU RECOMMEND ONE THAT WOULD BE WARM AND STYLISH. SHE IS FROM CALIFORNIA AND NOT USE TO THE COLD. DUCKY
I expected more from North Face and much more from a $350 jacket! I live in NH and needed it for the cold. This one is not particularly warm! The pocket zippers are so small they are hard to find, never mind use, no knit cuffs to keep out the cold and snow (you have to wrap the tabs so tight it looks like a ruffle around your wrist.)The hood is only good for keeping you dry, not warm. The bottom of the jacket was quite tight. I am not "pear shaped" so that body type would have a hard time getting a good fit. Was there anything I liked? Well it is attractive (ordered the "Brownie") and a 3 in 1, cool and trendy - (hence the 2 rating instead of 1) if you have small hips and that is what you are looking for. If you need warmth try "Canada Goose" brand. BTW, your service was GREAT - highly recommended.
I'm pretty short, 5'2". weigh 110 pounds. need a shorter jacket, not too long and not too big.how long is the jacket, length, collar to end?would you say jacket runs on small size or large?not sure if i should get a Small or XSthanks.
All in all this is a really nice jacket. I'm a big fan of North Face and own several jackets and vests for various temps and conditions. What I had yet to find, however, was a warm down jacket that was also figure-flattering and didn't make me look like a giant marshmallow. This jacket is it. It is very stylish and has a nice feminine shape. It is warm but not uber-warm (I'll pull out my north face metropolis for the really tough temps as that has a down hood and comes to my knees). But for "typical" cold midwest winters this is quite cozy. The neck comes up really high, which I like, but is a bit stiff but I'm willing to put up with it. Also the down jacket underneath is cute on it's own (also flattering) but more of a lightweight "down sweater" type rather than a hefty duty down jacket. The hood is strictly for rain/snow and doesn't provide any warmth. I got the black which looks great.
