The North Face Foil Thermal Jacket - Women's - 2007
When Mother Nature turns her cold shoulder on you, zip into the The North Face Women's Foil Thermal Jacket. The Foil's 600-fill down insulation and stretch fleece sleeves provide complete comfort when the mercury drops. Wear the Foil Thermal Jacket alone while you walk town after a day on the hill, or use it as a layering piece on those frigid January mornings on the slopes. The thumbhole loops keep the stretch fleece sleeves comfortably in place while you ski, hike, or just hang out around town. And the Foil's asymmetrical neck zip and side entry zippers won't rub your chin down to the bone when you have it zipped all the way up.
Bottom Line: Ruin winter's cold-hearted plans with the The North Face Foil Thermal Jacket.
i love the coolness (shape, cut, fit, weight) of this jacket. it is not your traditional cut and much more urban than many outdoor jackets. sleek for the city.
Just rc'vd. Bought it for xcountry skiing and mountain biking in cool weather. I was so intrigued by the fit and design I decided to wear it to work as a jacket. Not only is it suprisingly warm but everyone is crazy for it! Many many compliments. The side zippers are wondeful for core venting during a workout, then zip up for a cosy glove like fit. I think this item is absolutely outstanding. It's an instant favorite-wish they had it in more colors except white, I would surely buy another.
This was definatley not what I thought it was, or I wouldn't have bought it. The design is a little funky. I did like how the zipper crossed the chest, which is why I bought it. It is also kind of hard to take off, too.
Okay, I've changed my mind. It's not too "space cadety"! The medium made me look like a Buck Rogers throwback, even when belted. I tried the small, however, and had a completely different experience! It fits me like a glove and looks very "smart." I'm suprised that it made such a difference. I normally wear a small in TNF, so I suggest you order your normal size to ensure you get the intended fit. It is difficult to put on and take off, though, due to the narrowness of the shoulders. The inside of the sleeves also stick to all but the silkiest long-sleeved shirts. Otherwise, it's pretty cool, and is a good midlayer or outerlayer for 45-degree days.
In person, it was too space cadety for me. The location of the shoulder seam also visually narrows the shoulders, which I don't like. As for warmth, I am warmer in my medium weight cashmere sweater. The fleece on the arms is very, very thin. It reminds me of the quality of fleece sold at Target. Regarding fit, if you are in between sizes, you may want to order up. This does have a very slim fit. It fits well under regular outerwear jackets.
This Northface was not what I was expecting ... not as heavy/coat like. It would probably be best under some sort of other shell. I asked customer support if it zipped all the way down (as in did not need to be pulled over your head) and they said yes. However, it unzips from the armpit down so it still needs to be pulled over your head!
