The North Face Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket - Men's - 2007

The North Face Men's Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket's high-loft fleece keeps you warm when the temps drop, and the Apex ClimateBlock softshell material breathes like a champ when you work up a sweat. Its casual fit makes the Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket a great choice for wearing around town, and gives you enough room for layering when the mercury drops. The Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket's high breathability keeps you at a comfortable temperature while you hike, climb, or ski.

Bottom Line: The North Face Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket keeps you warm in cold weather and comfortable when you work hard to get up a ridge or down a couloir.

North Face Apex Bionic Thermal Jacket

By:
January 16, 2008

I ordered this jacket for my husband for Christmas after much research comparing it to the non-thermal version. My husband says "I don't like to be cold." And this jacket has been great for that. The extra $50 you pay for the "thermal" version gives you a furrier, thicker lining. We live in New England and he wears it as a winter jacket. My husband says that since the jacket is windproof, it makes a little sauna inside because the jacket doesn't let the wind in or the body heat out. The only downside to the jacket and the reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is the seams around the armpits. They are a little tight and have the ability to rub the armpits if you're not wearing the right shirt underneath. This small detail was not bad enough to cause my husband to dislike the jacket though. Overall it is a great jacket.

Begs for more pockets

By:

This jacket will keep you warm to around 40 degrees or so. However, it fits much tighter than most North Face products and absolutely needs one more pocket! I have a few other North Face jackets that are size large and fit me great. With this jacket, I need an XL in order to wear a hoody or sweater underneath.

Perfect all season jacket and looks great too

This may be the greatest jacket ever made. Ever. You feel no wind, no water, and it's incredibly comfortable. It's lightweight and thin so it allows you to move around easily but at the same time it will definitely keep you warm in cold temperatures. Putting a fleece on underneath should keep anyone warm even when it drops below freezing. I'd say the size ran to just about what I expected, possibly slightly small for some (I'm 5'11, 168 and I got a medium and it fit perfectly) so if you're looking to wear bulky clothing underneath I'd go with a size up. I would definitely order from this site again and the free shipping took only 3 days to get to me.
