The North Face Terra 60 Backpack - 3700-3850 cu in - 2007

Pack your sleeping bag, extra clothes, and food for the weekend in The North Face Terra 60 Backpack. Adjust the suspension system to accommodate your torso length and head off into the wilderness. Dual density padded straps keep your shoulders comfortable, and an open-air mesh panel across the back of the Terra allows air to flow in, keeping your back cool. Tighten the hip-belt and transfer some weight off your shoulders. Pull your water bottle out of the side pockets to stay hydrated, and secure your trekking poles in the pole-loops when the trail levels out. Once you get to your campsite, unzip the sleeping bag compartment, pull your bag out and take a load off. If you need a lot of space, grab the large sized pack.

Bottom Line: Head out on your weekend backpacking adventure with your gear secure in The North Face Terra 60 Backpack.

Terra 60 makes me smile

By:
April 8, 2008

Great price for a great pack.
Listed as a day or weekend pack the Terra 60 provided more than enough comfortable space for a 5 day excursion and weighed in under 35lbs with water and food.
The pack has an incredible array of adjustments for comfort and fit making it by far the most comfortable pack I've yet used. Plenty of strapping along outside of pack in various configurations which allowed me to easily tote my sleeping pad and those of my mates.
Material stood-up to the harsh desert environ where I live without so much as a smudge on it.
I'd buy it again and plan to recommend it to my friend who's in the market for a pack.
Cheers.

Great weekend/overnight pack

By:
April 25, 2007

This pack is the perfect size for a more gear-intensive overnight pack (such as for Search and Rescue activities), or for the ultralight weekender. Also works great as a carry-on for flights and urban adventures. Plentiful pockets and trampoline bottom (that separates the sleeping bag compartment from the main compartment) allow for flexible storage options.

Here's the deal...I've got this nifty pack...but can I use it as a carry-on? I don't think it fits their guidelines. Has anyone tried this? Usually Southwest is pretty lax on this stuff if it's close.

Good pack with plenty of room

By:
December 5, 2007

I really like this pack.
For a test run, I packed it with over 35lbs of stuff and then hiked for a couple of hours. I played around with the adjustment straps, took the pack off and put back on repeatedly, jumped, ran etc. and it was very comfortable and stable.

When camping I was able to get everything I needed in there with room to spare. It seems this will be a nice pack for weekend trips.

We have a 12year old boy scout. Is this a good overnight backpack

We have a 12year old boy scout. Is this a good overnight backpack for a hike/camp trip? When it says hydration compatible does that mean it works with his already owned camelback pouch?

Myself being an eagle scout always look for good gear. North face stuff is very durable and this pack would last him a long time. The supports are good and usually younger kids prefer internal frames like this. My only concern is the size of the pack could allow for quite the weight load, 40-50lbs is pretty much what your looking for and this pack could easily take that much. also i do believe it has the pouch for the camelback. Hope that helps. You could also check out the Terra 40 which is smaller but essentially the same pack. And yes, they both definately hold a camelback pouch.

I have the Terra 60/40 and the 30, all great packs. Only problem is the sternum straps are too short when wearing more than just a light jacket.
