These are really nice shoes, but they run very wide. I tried a smaller size, and the length was too small. But if you have narrow feet, choose something else.

I don't care what the other people say, these shoes fit me perfectly. I have put over 300 miles on my shoes and they still are in excellent condition. I have high arches and they support them well- better than a lot of other shoes I have tried.

This shoe is made for the trail, good cushion on the the pavement. Good response and support on all terrains. I have taken them about twelve to fifteen miles in a day and they left my feet feeling awesome! (I took a 10 year old girl and a 6 month pregnant wife to Disney World in June, if that gives you any idea of the punishment these shoes can take, two parks in one day, chasing one and pushing another, LOL!)Like the classic, simple styling. All I can say is great shoe!

I find these shoes to have an awkward fit compared to the Hedgehog by The North Face. These ones are a bit "pointy" and pinch me over the top of my foot behind the toes and across the
tops of my toes. I have owned several pairs of TNF hedgehog shoes and I will stick with that model, as I find them sturdier, better cushioned and roomier over the top of my foot.

i've worn The North Face hikers about a dozen times. they are roomy, sturdy and light; unfortunately, i developed sore big toes (in the first knuckle) on both feet after about a week of ~2 miles/day. switched back to Merrells and Timberland leather walkers. soreness going away.

The traction is great on sandstone, but my feet hurt after wearing for a couple of hours.
