I just got mine yesterday, and it is lovely! Can't wait to wear it this winter! Note: some of the other posters found this coat to be too small; I found it to be true to size.

This is a great parka, it held up in 0 degree weather. The fit is great as well, lots of room in the shoulders. The only draw back is the zippers. I have had 2 pocket zippers break and I've only had the jacket for a month and a half. The teeth of the zippers are not the problem, the connection where the tab and the zipper head meet keeps breaking off so you cant even Macgyver it. Replace the zippers and it woulkd be a perfect parka.

I am disappointed that I paid so much for the coat and the zipper constantly sticks. Also I bought a down jacket for 1/3 the price at Burlington Coat Factory that is just as warm. If it was not for the fact I threw out the receipt and box that it came in I would have returned it. I guess I took the word of some of the other reviews so I just believed I would want to keep it. I am now stuck with a $300.00 Lemon

I found it to be on the small size. I wear size 14 and the XL was too tight around my breasts and the upper arm area. Otherwise the jacket is beautiful and very warm.

I already had several The North Face jackets and decided to buy a thick coat this year.
This one is stylish and functional, however, VERY snug across the bust area. Most of my old jackets range from Medium to Large, but I had to get an XL for this particular style, and it is still snug!

I found the perfect coat! The coat has a lot of extra features ie: inside pockets, deep outside pockets, adjustable waist tabs,& overall lightweight. The best feature is the sleeves because I am 6' tall and they fit - yeah!

I wanted this coat for a while and when I finally got it I was not disappointed. The coat has kept me extra warm and cozy during a wacky winter in NYC. If you plan to layer you might want to order a size up since I feel the coat runs a bit on the small size in the chest area. My only problem is that everyone has this coat, even in brown, but I guess I can't fault North Face for their products superior quality and popularity. Go ahead and splurge, it's worth it and so are you!

I really like this coat. It's extremely warm but I don't "over heat" like I do with my other winter coat. This one actually breathes. I also like that it does NOT have the puffy coat design. I'm so over that style. It's refreshing to wear something "else" in frigid temperatures verses assimilate with the masses. It's warm, stylish, good pockets. It's a good purchase.

I moved to Syracuse, NY in the fall of 2004, and have been in search of "the perfect coat" ever since. The others I tried were either too bulky, or not warm enough, or too difficult to hear if I had the hood on, or too ugly. This coat is fun, warm, shows that I have a waist, and is warm even when it's -20 outside! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an all around coat in a real winter environment.

I love this jacket. As a petite woman, most winter coats tend to be too wide for me. But this coat fits nice and closely to the body. Awesomely stylish, and much warmer than any of the other coats I tried.

NYC was just hit with a cold snap bringing temps down to 18 degrees. I was fully prepared with my NF Arctic Parka. I didn't need a hat because the hood is fully adjustable and very warm. Its not puffy I didn’t feel like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I originally bought an XL but returned it for a Large, if you’re curvy and not sure of the sizes, go with the size that fits your waist.... I love my coat and the lining...

I bought this product over the internet and was a little nervous as the first time I was to see it was to be when I received (and paid for) it!
I was not at all disappointed and I was right to have faith in the The North Face product.
The Arctic Parka is very warm and when out in wet conditions, you can trust that you are kept completely snug and dry. I was amazed at how the rainwater simply ran off the coat and left it dry.
You can see how well made it is ... so well in fact that it comes with a life-time warranty.
It's nice to have something that is both so practical and yet so stylish.
I absolutely love it !

Before I saw this option to write a review I was actually thinking about writing to The North Face to let them know how amazing this coat is. WARM! GORGEOUS! STYLISH! It is maybe the most expensive coat I've ever had, but so good, so worth it, such good quality it shows and glows.

Great, warm coat - but the faux fur on the Moonlight Ivory isn't white like on the web site - it's a dark brown.

It was love at first sight--beautiful turquoise lining gives this mink-colored coat some pizaz without being too wild. It is delicious to put on and is light but incredibly warm without the bulk. Knee-length, lovely fur-lined hood to sheild from the most brutal of elements, fits a woman's figure without making her look like a box. This is thee perfect winter coat.

This parka is fantastic because it's warm, cut well (although a wee bit to narrow in the bust if you're busty), and makes you look a little bit less casual. My boyfriend said I looked "fancy", so I made him take me to a nicer restaurant :)

I've been wearing this parka constantly for about 3 weeks - it is warm and toasty but breathes well. The turquoise lining in the "Brownie" is bright but pretty and there is enough shape to the parka so that I don't look like the Michelin Man in it. I like the long length - but be sure to order up a size as the parka runs small. I'm not sure how the faux fur trim will hold up to cleaning, but hopefully that won't be needed for a long time.

I'm perpetually freezing--even in the fall, but I can wear this jacket in the windy city in below-Siberia chills, with only a tee and jeans underneath! Unless you're like me and have the unfortunate burden of having to wear sweats, a thick terry robe and gym socks in my own house (because frankly I can't afford the amount of heat I would require to feel "comfortable"), you can't understand the freedom this jacket allows me--like not having to wear 20 layers underneath an already voluminous winter coat--and it doesn't make me look like a bear! The cut is metro-chic. Close fitting, nips in at the waist. I can wear it with my designer scarf, 3" dagger-tip mules, suede hobo, and look downtown. A great, warm coat with absolute dress-up potential.

I wore my parka to walk Santa Fe galleries during a wet spring snow. I was toasty warm and completely dry. My thighs were protected from moisture due to the length of the parka. The hood was wonderful! I was indoors for ten minutes at a time looking at art and was able to push the hood off my head, pulling it back up when I went out to brave the elements again. As with my other purchases this was an excellent choice.

I bought this jacket for my daughter who is a freshman at Penn State and was not use to the bitter winter weather in PA. She loves the parka and no longer complains of the freezing weather walking to classes. She says it is great because it is toasty warm, not bulky and stylish too.

This jacket is extremely nice and totally worth the price. The fit and the quality is what is to be expected from this brand so there are no surprises there. BUT!!!! I got the "brownie" color and had no idea the lining would be in bright TURQUOISE! In the picture it's obviously a brown lining so I was shocked but after a few moments I didn't care. Either way I still love it (which is why I gave it a 5) but it would've been nice to know in advance. So call them up and find out what color the lining is if you choose the other color jackets before you buy.

This parka runs VERY small! After reading reviews, I called Customer Service and the gentleman told me they ran LARGE so I ordered It. It was beautiful but VERY SMALL!

When I first received the coat, I wasn't sure if it would be warm enough, but now that the temperature is down at 20 degrees, I can tell you that it really is. I walked to work today wearing only a sweatshirt and t-shirt underneath it and I was burning up. In 19 degree weather with a windchill of 9! I am facing my first winter in Michigan and I am glad I have this coat to help me through. My only criticism is that I wish there were wrist cuffs and that the hand pockets were bigger and fleece-lined (now they are lined with some other kind of fuzzy stuff, though not too soft). Overall though, I am happy with how warm the coat is, I like the bright lining color (blue), and I am super warm. Plus it looks nice.

I'll be living through two winters in Russia and ordered this parka to get me through. So far, it's doing a great job. It's hot in my office, and with this parka, I can walk to work with just a t-shirt underneath and still be warm. I also wore it outside for hours at a time in below-freezing weather for a weekend in Latvia; the only place I was cold was my nose. This jacket is very warm indeed, but not stifling, it still breathes. Also, when it says "waterproof" it means it. I've worn the coat in the rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet, and it all beads right off. Awesome parka overall.

This coat is getting me through my first winter in Chicago!

We recently purchased the Arctic Parka for our daughter who must park and walk several cold New Hampshire blocks to work in all kinds of weather. Parka is WARM, comfortable, and fashionable. She loves it. We recommend ordering a size up from usual. She usually is an extra small, but the small was just right. (thank you for this tip from another reviewer) We don't often spend this much on coats, but this one is worth every dollar. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again!

I bought this parka for an Alaska trip. It's very warm and falls about mid-calf so you are well insulated over most of your body. I am very broad shouldered and found the medium too snugly cut under the shoulders. I would move up one size from what you routinely wear.

This jacket did just the trick for me. I work downtown and take the train, and I walk about a mile a day outside, and I can honestly say that I have never been cold while wearing this jacket. And it's fashionable and tapered in the waist just enough to have it look just as good as it feels -- and I don't have to worry about looking like a stuffed marshmallow like some of the puffer coats that are availiable. I highly recommend this jacket to anyone in the city or country to stay warm as can be all winter long.

I love the jacket. I think the size is right... I usually wear an 8 on top, so I got a medium and it fits perfect. The jacket is very warm. If I go out for a walk when it's 25'F, I only have to wear a long sleeve shirt under the jacket and I am warm the entire time I'm outside. I would recommend it.

I ordered the North Face Artic Parka. It's very warm and stylish,which is a combo that often times is a bit difficult to find. It is really cute and I get a lot of compliments on it. It very very warm, so warm that I need to remove it when I step into a store that I may be shopping at a while to keep from breaking a sweat. You may want to keep that in mind depending on climate you plan to wear this in. I live in Chicago, great for the windy city! I think the turquoise lining really adds some flare to the brown. Overall, great coat!

I love everything about this coat except for the fact that it has been too warm (in Virginia) to wear it. I did wear it in chilly New Hampshire and Boston over the holidays and got to test out its water resisting abilities during several sleet storms. It scores well on being warm, water, and windproof. It has smart pockets too. I don't need to carry a purse when I have this coat on. The turquoise lining feels like a dream, so smooth! I got some matching brown and teal mittens from Burton to go with it. There is no place to clip my mittens to, however. This coat is well made and worth the price.

I bought this coat because Chicago winters can be cold. I do love it because it is water-proof and fits very well. However, I did expect it to be a little warmer. A Great coat overall!

I thought this coat would be white, instead it was an ugly cream color, it was also a lot more puffy than I thought it would be, what I thought was going to be the perfect coat turned out to be really ugly. I returned it.

I love the brand The North Face and my current duvet style jacket was starting to look a little loved! So it was time to replace it... didn't think I could find something which was as good as my McMurdo but I have... and actually it's better!! Lovely fit and length... would recommend it to everyone.

I love my new North Face Parka. My roommate got it and I liked it so much, I had to have one for myself. The hood is stylish and functional - it doesn't blow off easily in the Chicago wind. The turquoise lining adds a great splash of color to the look.

I bought this jacket b/c I was freezing in New York over winter and it has served me well. I love the "fur" hood, it comes in very handy when it's windy or precipitating. The coat is also very useful when I go out in skirts b/c it keeps my legs warm. It was delivered to my apartment in a timely manner. Overall, I would say that I got my money's worth out of it, especially since it was on sale!

bought this coat for my girlfriend...at first she wasn't psyched - but its incredibly warm and she loves it. big points for me.

This jacket is stylish, durable and warm. The lining in this jacket adds flavour to the plain colour and the lining is very durable. The jacket overall provides ample warmth but is not bulky or heavy. Further, the waist provides an adjustable back button to either tighten or loosen the look. The outer material is tough. Overall, in comparison to the other parka's out there, this jacket will keep you warm without the puffy bulk. Wind chill's won't be an issue in this jacket. Totally worth the price.

I just got this coat and wanted to advise other buyers it's terrific, but it does run on the small size. I wear size 8 but needed a Large to be comfortable. So thanks to the other reviewers who pointed that out. Other than that, it's great and has a nice style.

Love the coat! Keeps me warm and fits nicely. I usually wear size 4-6, so the original order was a size small which was too small. The medium is a great fit for me. Overall, I highly recommend this coat for warmth and good looks.

This coat really keeps me warm but sometimes i feel like i cant wear it in weather higher that 30 degrees because I will get to hot.
