The North Face Hot Shot Backpack - 1850cu in - 2006
The North Face Hot Shot Backpack's 1850cu inches of cargo space easily holds all the books you need for class. When it's loaded, the Hot Shot's angled bottom panel shifts your spiral-bound load close to your back for easy carrying. The tuck-away waist-belt adds more support when you're confronted with unexpected homework, and The North Face added a front zip pocket to keep your pens at the ready for a pop quiz.**Water bottles not included.
Bottom Line: No amount of homework can match the carrying power of The North Face Hot Shot Backpack.
It lasted 3 years it's an excellent bag for school! it carried the most books Its better than the New Hot Shot!!!!Even when these people in my class colored it in! It worked like a charm!! I loved this bag sooo much I have two of them Old hot shot Empire Blue and Old Hot Shot in Black!!!!!! I loooove This Bag the old one anyway!!!!!!!
I bought this pack for my HS freshman -- he has been holding out for the perfect pack and chose this one. He says even when the pack is full the straps are very comfortable on the shoulders and the weight is distributed so it doesn't feel heavy (he uses the cinch straps to hold things snug to the back). There is plenty of room for binders, books, jacket, lunch, and soccer cleats. He's really happy with the solid black look. From a parent's point of view, I think this was money well spent.
There's a hydration pack pocket, but no padded laptop pocket. If you're wanting a pack with a laptop compartment, try this from Timbuk2:http://www.backcountry.com/store/TBK0053/Timbuk2-Track-Daypack-1400cu-in.html
I was looking for a new bag and already have had several The North Face bags so I decided to look. I can't say enough good things about my bag to people that ask. It has more than enough storage space and it is extremely comfortable and easy to carry. Plus it is not too big.
It's a descent bag overall...I managed to fit my laptop (which comes with a small laptop case), one school text book and a small sweater and the thick straps helped carry the heavy load. The one downside is all the straps around the bag, especially when traveling because it gets in the way of grabbing things you need inside quickly.
Love the backback. Has many convient pockets. The only thing is it has a lot of clips you have to undo to get the zipper down. But other than that it was a great purchase.
I do a lot of commuting on my bicycle, and the backback fits very good when i ride. I would not use it during a century but for the short distances around town it is great. Good padding, confortable straps. It is even better when I carry my laptop in the place for the blatter. The laptop fits perfectly and I can now go on business trips without the clunky Dell bckpack that I have. One con is there though. The compression straps in the middle obstruct the zippers. This is a little bit annoying but as the backpack is designed, it is unavoidable. For the price a very decent backpack.
This pack is versatile and is great for I use this pack for school, airplane travel, camping, hiking, and overnight trips. This pack is hydration compatible and the compression straps are a nice addition. Great North Face Pack.
I really like the Back pack and the size of it but I was disappointed in the color. Looking at the color it looks to me like a bright yellowish/orange. When I got it, it was more of a golden color.
