The North Face Insulated Freedom Pant - Women's - 2006

The North Face Women's Insulated Freedom Pant gives you the liberty to ski or ride where you want when you want. From chairlifts to hiking laps and skiing chutes, the Freedom knows no boundaries. Thanks to 60g of Heatseeker insulation, you can drop the long johns most days, or layer up for a super warm system when temps dip below 0F. Constructed with seam sealed waterproof HyVent fabric, the Freedom Pant encourages you to brave the harshest elements. Extended thigh vents cool you down when you're breaking trail, and articulated knees allow easy movement. The North Face Freedom Pants also comes with reinforced cuffs and StretchVent gaiters to keep the snow outside, where it belongs.

Bottom Line: The North Face Women's Insulated Freedom Pant, with liberty and powder stashes for all.

Best Fitting Ski Pants

By:
May 4, 2007

These pants tend to run a little big in the waist, but easily adjusted with the velcro flaps. My suggestion is to go down one size based on your hips. I'm 5'5" and based on their sizing chart (hips), I would be a size 8 or a medium, but the small regular length fit me perfectly. Finally, a pair of warm & functional ski pants that do not look too baggy. Thanks North Face!

These pants rock!

By:
April 30, 2007

This is my third pair of The North Face insulated freedom pants. I use them for skiing. They are warm but with great venting if needed, loose and comfy for freestyle skiing but also flattering, and launder beautifully. They rock.

Size is perfect, I am 5'10 fit like a glove the regular Medium. Pant is light, warm, comfortable. Looks and feels like a million bucks.

These pants ROCK!

By:
March 21, 2007

I LOVE these pants. I bought them to go skiing, and they are SO comfortable, and easy fitting, but still flattering. Also, I wear them when I'm going to be outside for a while at my daughters' school (and we live in SYRACUSE!) and they work great for that too. And the white is not a problem. Everyone thing comes right out in the wash. Highly recommend these pants.

Finally Freedom!

By:
December 19, 2006

I love my freedom pants. They are super warm if worn with an extra layer. Perfect for a warmer day worn alone. Great shape (not to straight, not to full). I now have three pairs in different colors. Last year in Utah I think I was a great promotional person for North Face as more than one person asked me what kind of pants I was wearing and told me how much they like them. I'm back to buy another pair this year. Thanks North Face.

Great pants - but sizes run big

By:
October 16, 2006

I love these pants, but unfortunately, the size I ordered was a bit too big.. I tried to go by the measurements, but I guess I went wrong. This place does, however, have a wonderful return policy and helpful staff! Otherwise the pants are great.. Insulated but not too bulky, great pockets, etc. and warm. The long length offered was a plus for me, as I have a hard time finding long-length ski pants and have just had to suffer with short pants up until recently. Highly recommended...but if you're unsure about your size, aim down rather than up.

Love my pants

By:
December 8, 2006

I got these a few weeks ago and love them. They're super warm, but the insulation isn't bulky at all. I like the reinforced cuffs. Just wish they had another cargo pocket.

These pants are awesome! I needed a pair of pants that were warm but not bulky and these fit the bill. They’re super comfy too! Definitely worth the money.

Insulated Freedom Pant

By:
January 9, 2006

Went skiing in 18F weather up in Wisconsin. I wore a pair of long johns underneath the pants and was perfect even a bit warm, so I used the side vents to let some cool air in. Also I am 5ft 5in 120lb, and the size small fill me perfectly the length was just right. I am a big fan of the insulated freedom pant.

West Vermont

By:
February 23, 2006

We skin in West Vermont (Mt. Snow). While the base is not that bad, the summit is incredibly cold. I skied all day Feb 13 in 8F with my Freedom pants, pantyhose and Underarmor. I was warm and comfortable all day. What I liked is that when you moved they kept the heat in, but when we stopped for lunch I was not overheated.

Spectator

So, I haven't actually gotten to ride in these pants yet, but did wear them to watch the women's giant slalom Olympic race (yeah, remember how hard it was snowing?). I had spandex shorts underneath and was completely comfortable, not sweating, not chilly. I am 6ft, so I wished the tall size was just an inch longer, other than that though, great!

Love love love these pants

By:
May 1, 2006

I love these pants. They’re comfortable, easy to wear, and dry. I am just so pleased with my purchase. Initially, I purchased them because I needed to find pants long enough for me (very long legs). But my legs are warm and toasty even on the coldest days and happy on all of the others.

Long and comfy

By:
March 29, 2006

I absolutely love my Freedom Pant (Long) from North Face. I am tall (6'1") and the inseam is just right. The adjustable waistband is a nice feature as well. Warm, but not hot...perfect!

Cute pants, good price

By:
March 29, 2006

Pants were women's extra large, long length. A little bigger than I thought, I had to wear a belt, but a great length. These are VERY warm pants, so beware in the spring. The side vents help with this though. Overall, good pants at a good price.

Great Snowboarding Pant!

By:
April 4, 2006

The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant is a great snowboarding/ski pant. I just went this past weekend and it was snowing like crazy. My pants kept me warm and they’re very waterproof. Even when sitting in the snow, the water didn’t get anywhere on the inside of the pants. I highly recommend this pant to anyone who loves being dry and stylish while snowboarding!

Loved these pants!

By:
March 16, 2006

I went snowboarding and these pants were awesome. I am from Vegas and love keeping warm, and these pants definitely kept me from freezing my wimpy butt off. The pants are nicely insulated and yet feel lightweight. They kept me dry, were windproof, and had these very useful hand warming pockets. I didn't have to use the vents, but they would probably be handy. Oh, and the pants are also stylish, which always helps when it's time for the lodge.

Great Pants

By:
January 4, 2007

The North Face insulated pants are the best. They were warm & waterproof just as I wanted. Even after a full day of skiing in windy snow I was warm & dry.
The leg pocket is just great as it is easily accessible with the jacket on.

awesome

By:
January 10, 2007

This was a gift for my daughter that she thought was totally awesome. She wore th on her ski trip to Lake Tahoe the first week in January. She commented on the ski pants as being warm and completely water proof and dirt proof. The water run right off as well as the dirt crumbled and brushed off. Very nice for white!

Awesome!

By:
January 2, 2007

Lightweight enough that you don't feel like the little brother in "The Christmas Story" while still providing enough insulation to stay completely warm. Side vents are great on sunny days when it's easy to get too warm. Size-wise, I'm 5'4" and typically a size 6. I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered the Small/Regular, and they're a perfect fit.

kept me warm

By:
January 8, 2007

I bought the ski pants for my December ski trip in Colorado... It was so cold out there skiing... For my hands and feet, but my body was nice and warm thanks to these pants and one under layer. Also, the pants don't feel bulky and fit great. I am a size 10 and the mediums are perfect.

Love these pants!

By:
January 12, 2007

I absolutely love these pants. They are insulated just enough so you don't get too hot but aren't freezing. I've skied on some pretty chilly days in these and still am comfortable. I ordered the short length and I'm 5'5 and they are perfect. When I have street shoes on they are a perfect length - not dragging on the ground.

Good ski pants

By:
January 2, 2006

The pants are warm and comfortable as ski pants go. I wore them with hot chillys underneath because it was -10F or so and I was always warm. I like the cargo style pockets.
