No matter how cold it gets on the ranch, The North Face Women's Montana Mitten will keep your hands nice and warm. Whether your ranch is full of cows or corn snow, you'll be able to work and play your hardest with your hands inside 120 grams of Heatsheild Optimal Technology insulation and a pile fleece lining. The handwarmer pockets on the back of the mitt let you crank up the temperature when the windchill drops. A smaller glove profile will fit your hands well so you'll maintain dexterity for putting on skins or opening gates. The Montana Mitten has a waterproof, breathable HyVent insert so your hands will stay dry in any conditions.
Bottom Line: Don't let cold conditions stop you from cutting corn-snow.
My daughter loves these mittens. The hand warmer pockets were the deciding factor in this purchase. She wore these skiing in Colorado and stayed warm and dry.
I picked these mittens for the hand warmer pockets on the back (a great feature), but after trying them on - the comfort and warmth really stand out. There is cozy spot for each finger in the main part of the mitten! If you are wearing old outdated mittens like I was - you are missing out! Definitely measure your hand for proper sizing.
These are not warm enough for quite a few of my excursions. I live in northern MN, so maybe they just don't hold up the the cold here. I am sometimes too cold cross country skiing, unless it is above 30 and am always too cold on walks, shoveling, and sometimes snowboarding. I am ordering some down ones instead of these. My hubby is warm enough for CC skiing in these, so maybe it is poor circulation.
These mittens seem to run a bit small, particularly the thumb, so order up a size. Also, they wlll not be warm enough for low single digit or negative temps. Other than that, seems like a great mitten, nice that they're white, too.
Every penny that was spent on these particular mittens was worth it! They are very comfortable with the glove shape for the fingers, allows ease with grasp on any item. Very warm, keeps wind outta there. I use them nearly every day, so don't hesitate to purchase them.
