The North Face Triple C Jacket is an ankle length coat that covers your entire body in ultra-warm 600-fill down. If you're tired of getting cold, when you go out for the evening, you need the Triple C in your closet. This is seriously stylish insulation for frigid city streets and ski town chic. For this winter, TNF has updated this piece with a plaid lining and flattering waist baffles. When you're waiting for the bus, train, or taxi, the Triple C lets you rock out with a built-in electronics acceptance system. Internal security pockets lets you keep your cash and passport close. The Triple C's hood is insulated to provide the most warmth possible and snaps off when you don't need it. Soft brushed lining in the collar makes you feel like you're always in the lap of luxury.
Bottom Line: Triple C stands for Classy Comfortable Coat.
I see why monks wore long robes. This jacket is very warm and comfortable yet very lightweight. The jacket also has lots of extra nice features like pockets for cell phones and iPods. The material also has a nice feel to it. All in all, a great jacket.
I first ordered this coat in black. When I received the shipment I took it out of the box tried it on looked it over and put it back in the box. I returned it I did not think that a coat that thin could be worth the price tag, so I sent it back. Over the President's Day weekend I went online and saw that the coat was on sale and I could get it in brown. I put it on with only a thin T-strap tee shirt and went outside in the brutal 19F weather with high winds that we were having. I was outside for over an hour. The coat kept me warm! When I wear it now I am just as proud as if I have on a full length mink. Everyone loves the color (everyone else who has it in black boring). Thank you, because of the quality I have visited the site several more times to purchase a jacket and gloves for my husband and myself. I have also purchased a pair of 'Chilkat Boots" and a North Face backpack. Yes I am 'North Faced' out. If you need someone to do a commercial I will 'do you proud'.
I love this coat. It's very warm and living on the east coast that's a definite plus. I like that it's not bulky, and you don't have to put on layers of clothing to keep warm. People always stop and ask me where I got my north face from because the brownie color is hard to find in my area. This coat is stylish and looks great with my The North Face Greenland zip boots. The tailored waist is also flattering. I'm 5ft 6in, and the coat stops above my ankles. If you're shorter it might be a little long. No complaints here, a very happy customer.
The coat is warm as advertised and the shape is good. This is a coat and is not a jacket. I bought it to wear to work. If you plan to wear layers or a jacket you might order a size up. I am a 4 and can get the small over a suit jacket. But, if I were larger it would be a tight squeeze. As in many garments with long zippers, there are times when you need to get it "just right" to unfasten it. Also, my own preference would be for a lining that is darker so that it would not look so "sporty".
This is fine, although it should be advertised as a coat. I ordered it expecting a coat from the measurements. It runs on the small side. The zippered pockets on the outside and in are a convenience for me. The cell phone holder is useless (by the time you get it out, the ring has stopped). The company is fine to deal with.
I actually thought the coat cost so much because it was TRULY warm. I have a coat that keeps me warmer than the North face I purchased; so I don't wear it often. The coat was not what I expected.
This company handled my order promptly and when I needed to exchange the size the process was smooth and correct. This North Face down coat is warm and fits true to the size one would expect. I am 5'3" and the sleeves are about 1 to 2 inches too long. The coat is long on me but both of these conditions could be corrected with alterations. I am happy with the warmth of this coat also.
I received this coat from my husband for Christmas and have received many compliments from my staff at work. It is extremely warm even though the East Coast has been above normal temperatures but on the few severe cold weather days it has worked very well. As we own a horse we are outside with him on weekends and it has been a blessing.
I love this coat. This is the perfect long puff coat if you're looking for warmth and style. Most puffy coats are unflattering and make you look like the Michelin tire man. This one is different. It has a flattering fit with the waist stitching and is super long which I love. Looks great with wide leg pants and pointy toe boots. Ever since I saw this style of coat on everyone in Italy, I've been searching for one- and this is it. Great brown color too!
I was determined not to be cold this winter, so I looked all over for what seemed to be the warmest/best looking coat I could find. I decided on this one based on the reviews. I ordered the coat in a small, using the size chart and Live Help for guidance. It looked ridiculous on melike I was a kid wearing my parent's clothes. I'm almost 5'9", but the coat was overpowering on my slim build. I didn't bother going for an extra small because I wasn't so in love with the styling and loft in general that I thought it worth the money.
I'm still looking for my Holy Grail coat...maybe next winter.
Shopping here again has been a fine experience. The North Face Triple C jacket I bought was a bit of a disappointment, because they went to 600-fill down rather than the 700-fill that last years coat had. And the price was just the same. I haven't cut the tags yet, but probably will as soon as it gets cold enough.
This coat runs big. I usually wear a small and needed to go XS. This coat is so toasty! It's like wearing your sleeping bag, but much more fashionable. The two-way zipper starts just below the knee, even though the coat itself is almost ankle length. There are 2 external lined hand-warmer pockets, and 3 internal pockets, including one for your mp3 player as well as a zippered pocket that can fit anything passport-sized. The plaid lining is soft and very cute. The only complaint is that I'm 5ft 2in, and the jacket is cut for longer torsos. The baffling that's supposed to give your waist a cinched look actually hits the top of my hips. A taller friend tried it on and it looks pretty much like it does in the picture. Though the hood was a little boxy around the head.
I like the coat that I have, Ive been getting great feedback on it. People in the streets ask where I got it and what color it I s(brown which is my all time favorite color) instead of black. It is very warm and has a lot of pockets that are very deep, plus a very cool cell phone holder.
I LOVE this jacket! It keeps me so nice and toasty on the cold streets of NYC, and I've gotten tons of compliments on it. Having read some of the other reviews, it runs a little big, but a medium fits me perfectly (I'm 5'7" and it hits mid-calf). Best winter jacket ever!
I bought this coat to get through my first Chicago winter, and I have not been disappointed. It blocks wind and cold like nobody's business! I often just wear it over a t-shirt and fleece sweatpants when I'm on my way home from the gym, and I still feel warm. Lastly, as far as puffy coats go, it is definitely more stylish than the rest. The waist cinching makes a real difference. Don't balk at the price; it's worth the money.
I was very skeptical about buying this coat, but it is the best coat I have ever had. We have had some very cold days in Chicago, and this coat kept me very warm. It is not too bulky and very soft. The two way zipper is great when driving the car. It does run true to size. I am 5'11" and it comes down to just above my ankles. So it may be to long for shorter women. Hopefully, TNF will add a 700 fill for those extra cold days.
I just got my jacket today and the weather was cold enough to try it out, it does keep me warm but it's so ugly! I will keep it since the purpose is to keep me warm in the freezing cold weather. For the price I paid, I will keep probably pass this jacket down to my daughter.
