The North Face Varius Guide Jacket - Women's - 2006
The North Face Varius Guide Jacket is a stretchy, breathable, waterproof wonder that's perfect for full season of skiing or riding. Once you're standing inside the Face Varius Guide Jacket, you'll wonder why everyone complains about snow, rain, and wind. The Varius has every key feature of a technical jacket, giving you the most jacket for the least cashola. The Varius utlizes HyVent 2-layer fabric, which is responsible for its breathablability and total weatherproofness. Key areas of the jacket, like the arms, stretch to give you maximum freedom of movement. The hood is removable for more fair weather skiing. The North Face's zip-in integration lets you zip most any The North Face fleece or insulation layer into the coat, creating a single insulated garment.
Bottom Line: Stay dry and move easily with HyVent.
I have one of these jackets and my wife was always using it. SO I bought one for her. It is warmer than you might think it would be, and it's WEATHER PROOF, the best part. I would recommend this jacket to anyone.
I have received my north face jacket and it is a really nice jacket however, I was pretty disappointed to find out the liner of a winter coat was something that you had to purchase separately, I guess you fooled me once but will not fool me twice.
I just want to say thank you! My daughter is really enjoying her jacket. She wanted that jacket for over a year. I just didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. I'm glad that I was able to get it for her. She wears it all the time, even to church! Thanks so much for making my daughter happy.
I love this jacket! I wore it in a monsoon-like rain storm the other day and remained completely dry. I got to work and people were mad that my hair was not drowned and messy as theirs was! The rain just rolled right off the jacket, so when I took it off everything around me stayed dry. I definitely recommend this jacket for wet weather safety...
This is a very nice looking jacket, the colors are great and it has a flattering fit. This jacket runs a bit smaller than the rest of my North Face gear. However, don't buy this if you're looking for a winter coat. It's more of a rain coat or maybe a spring or fall jacket. There is almost no insulation. I have a North Face zip-up fleece that's warmer.
I'm not a skier, but purchased this jacket because of normal living in New Hampshire. The winters here are COLD, the winds are crazy and the weather overall is completely unpredictable. This jacket was originally purchased to be a shell for my North Face fleece, just for extra warmth. It has been TREMENDOUS. Great to keep out the wind, great for keeping warm, awesome in the rain, and in the snow as well.. It wasn't even that expensive. A GREAT buy!
I recently bought the women's Varius Guide jacket and even after a week it is amazing! It works in heavy rain and snow. With snow, I suggest zipping in a fleece, or it may be too cold. It has a snow shield which isn't mentioned in the list of features but is one of the main reasons I bought it. Overall, this is a great jacket with all the features I look for:)
The Varius Guide Jacket functions as a great shell. Layer underneath as little or as much as you need. I am very tall and the arms are perfect, the fit is generally perfect (which is usually difficult). Completely stops the wind, moisture, rain, snow, etc. Just fantastic. Has a number of pockets for all of your goodies (mp3, sunglasses, hat, keys, $$). Great for activities that require a lot of upper body movement.
It's a really nice jacket. I have a North Face down vest, and the Denali, which both fit in this perfect. I would recomend this jacket for anyone who's trying to block the wind, and the rain. The detachable hood is nice too.
Great fit! I am 5"4 and a medium works great for me. The features on this jacket are worth it. I went with the orange coral and it looks great. and my columbia fleece can even zip into it! woo hoo bonus!
The zip in is way nice, it even fits with my Columbia fleece. It is super dry and great for all around use with the rain and snow. It does fit true to size also don't worry about sizing up or down.
