Kia ora, I'm from New Zealand and ordered the The North Face Gotham Jacket, primo online and primo in the flesh. Delivery was excellent, received it in 5 days which I was totally blown away. The warmth of the jacket is unbelievable, I only wear a t-shirt underneath and I'm totally warm.

Buying that coat was one of the best decisions I've made in a long, long time. It is comfortably warm (in a time when we're experiencing extreme cold.) The color, maud pink, is unusual and very attractive, I've never experienced so many compliments, even from people I don't know, as I have re the coat. It is a wonderfully attractive - actually almost elegant - and yet a sturdy and practical item.

I got this gift for my wife for Christmas. We live in the Rockies and ski at Alta almost every weekend, so we don't need Gore-Tex or eVent or anything like that -- the snow is so light that you're not worried about waterproofing. But you definitely need something warm, and this jacket delivers. But I got the pink, and when it arrived it looked more "pepto bismol" pink than light pink. So I exchanged it for the brownie color and she loves it. She wears it often around town, which I think is key for any jacket like this -- you don't want it to be JUST utilitarian, because then you don't use it often enough. If you're doing dawn patrol tours in LCC a couple of times a week, use an eVent shell or some other layerable jacket. But if you just want to wear a heater while you're lapping the Supreme lift, you'll be very happy in this.

The North Face Gotham Jacket is like a warm, puffy marshmallow. I bought this for my teenage daughter and she looks adorable with the hood on. The interior fabric feels like butta! Oh yea, it's warm...

The jacket fits well, but luckily it hasn't been cold enough for me to wear it yet!

This jacket was purchased for me as a early Christmas gift. It's purpose is to keep me warm on my trip to NYC for New Years! Since I live in So. Cal. I haven't really had a chance to wear it out in really cold whether. But I have worn it on our recent rainy days and it definitely does its job! What I love about it is the feel of it! It's so soft and looks great on!

This jacket is amazing. I go to college in upstate New York and it really keeps me warm even if I'm just wearing a tee shirt under it. its probably the greatest thing that I've ever spent $200 on. I’m glad I bought it.

The Gotham Northface jacket is extremely warm and very comfortable.

Got this jacket for my GF and she loves it. We braved New Yrs in NYC w/ our matching Northface Gothams wearing just a t-shirt underneath and remained very warm. Looks great too!

I love my gotham jacket- I love that there is fur on the hood, but you can remove it if it appears too frou-frou at times.
My only problem is that feathers from the down come out at the seams- no big deal, but it tends to leave a consistent lint-look to it. That said, it is pretty minimal.
All in all my jacket is great- sharp, chic, warm, and sporty all wrapped up in one!

I bought this jacket because I needed something that was cute and stylish but also kept me warm. The hood is also very big (and down insulated) so it more than covers my head. I particularly appreciated that because it always keeps my head dry when it's snowing. However, I would not use it as a ski jacket. The cloth around the wrists and waist would get too wet when skiing. Plus, the jacket doesn't come far enough down to cover the bum in case you get cold real easy. Overall, if you want warmth and style this is the jacket to go for.

I love this jacket. The zipper can act up every once and a while, but besides that I have had zero functionality problems. As for keeping me warm, it does a great job. It looks pretty sweet too.

I love the coat a lot because it keeps me warm. The only thing I don't like about the coat is the lint. And because I have a black one, it’s a little noticing.

I bought the Gotham jacket for my daughter who is attending college in the Midwest. She was walking to class on a bitter cold November day and while talking to me on her cellphone, she said she was freezing. I asked her if she was wearing "Brownie" (her Gotham jacket, I ordered it in Brown), she said she was. I asked her if "Brownie" is warm and she replied, "YES! the top half of me is toasty warm, but the bottom half is freezing!" She loves her jacket and gets lots of compliments, as it is both stylish and warm. We would highly recommend this jacket.

I love the coat! It is stylish and warm, but I've only had it for a couple weeks and the down feathers are coming out of the coat. It has pros and cons.

The Gotham Jacket is warm and very cute, but you can NOT wear the fur in snow or rain or it looks awful. Also, if you leave the jacket unzipped the VELCRO® Brand Fastener ruins the sleeve. It’s terrible, I have had it a month and it looks bad. Anyway, the zipper also comes off track at least once a week. I love the look of the coat but I have been really, really, disappointed with how it has worn in.

It’s great. The only slight problem I have with it is the cuffs pill a little bit. Otherwise, it’s great, it’s warm and I love it.

The coat would have been perfect, if it were water proof. But after scotch guarding, it is now water proof so it's now perfect: super warm, comfy, high quality, and an excellent value for the money. I'm giving it 3 thumbs up--even though I had to go to a lot of trouble for the extra thumb.

This is my second Gotham jacket. I traded my other to a natural horsemanship student from England who fell in love with my first one. She wore it skiing on a Montana ski slope on New Year's Eve and was the only one who was warm. The fur around the hood keeps our faces from freezing in our below zero winters. Anyway, she returned from the restroom and a strange girl was trying it on and she also loved it! I love my new lavender color and wear it on the cold winter days in Montana, feeding horses or photographing and videoing the natural horsemanship students playing with their horses in the snow. I highly recommend it, it’s both functional and fashionable!!

I have been looking for the ideal jacket for a long time and have found it in the Gotham. I wanted a jacket that will last for the next five years and is super warm so I don't have to wear layers underneath. After doing my research and having read all the reviews on this site, I finally purchased the Gotham jacket in black XS. It is a great jacket. I originally thought I would return it. I was waiting for the zipper to go off track and the down feathers to come out. So far, the zipper didn't go off track, some down feathers come out, but not a lot, so I think it's okay. It keeps me very warm! The review about the hook-and-loop cuff closure messing up the sleeve is true, but it doesn't bother me. If you are a short XS, you might want to consider purchasing the kids’ L. The XS fits me, but at the back, you can tell that there is a lot of extra cloth because it is for taller people. Also, the fabric of this jacket is more like cloth rather than like the Nuptse. Overall, it is a great buy and I like the jacket more the more I wear it. I don't know yet if it will last five years, but I think it is a long term buy. Great jacket and super warm!

I just received my coat the day of a deep freeze here in Michigan. So as I put on the coat on my way to work, I noticed it was soooo snuggly and soft. The pockets are deep and soft also. When the wind kicked I did not feel a thing! This is the warmest coat I have ever owned. I have recommended this website to my friends as they are all jealous of MY new coat!

I just got my new "brownie Gotham down coat" and it is GREAT! It will be so warm at our football games and color guard expos! It is made very well and it will look so good with jeans at the stadium. I bought this jacket for my daughter and she normally wears a medium in tops and sweaters, so we ordered a medium. The jacket was very wide which created double the "puffiness". I feel the jacket runs big so buyer beware.

I just bought this jacket and love it. The crisp white look of this jacket is great and I get complements on it all the time. It is definitely really warm and has an incredibly deep hood. The only downfalls to it are that while the hood is deep, it is so deep that it covers my eyes and I can't see where I am going. The other negative is the outer material of the jacket. It is constantly getting dirt, dust, and whatever else stuck to it like a magnet. Very difficult to keep it looking so clean in white!

Amazing jacket. Sooo warm, and lovely soft fabric. Even though the Gotham looks like it has somewhat more length on the photo, it's a really a short model, but it doesn't matter, it looks hot. Spray on some waterproofing, and it works when its raining too.

I love my coat!! It is very warm and I feel no wind coming through it. I ordered a size medium and was worried that it was going to be to small. Because some of the other reviews said it ran small. It was a perfect fit and it seems to be a true medium size. I also love the fur around the hat!! It is a gift any girlfriend would love to have!!

Good purchase.. minimal additional layering needed to deal with Syracuse's cold and windy conditions. Only detractor is that its not waterproof.

Have had the jacket for 1 month, and the knit cuffs and waist band, which is knit, are pilling. This is an expensive coat and shouldn't be doing that. Wouldn't recommend to friends.

This jacket is the warmest jacket I have owned! The Minnesota winters can be brutal when the high is -5 degrees, so this is perfect!

Great jacket has been abused on the slopes and on the back of my husbands ATV,without any feather loss. Another plus is the stylish look of the coat which could also be used for a night on the town. Great all around jacket

I love this North Face coat!! It is incredibly warm and very stylish. I have gotten many compliments on my coat and have referred those people to this website. Sizing does seem to run true to size. I couldn't decide if I needed a Med or Large. I went with Med since most of my tops are Med and I am happy with the way the coat fits.

I purchased this jacket for my daughter and when it was opened, we found it to loose feathers. I have heard not only this jacket and other down jackets loose feathers. I do not know whether or not it is because of the material the jacket is made from or just the feathers being fine enough to seep through. It is very very warm and I have no regrets. I just do not like loosing my feathers. Warmth Grade B, Feather Loss C. I will not send it back unless it completely goes flat. Thank you.

The jacket, at first glance, met all my expectations. After 2 weeks of normal wear, however, I noticed that an unusually large amount of down kept creeping out of the seams of the jacket. I feel as though there won't be any down left after a year. Also, despite the softness of the exterior of the jacket, it works as a big lint magnet. The jacket is warm and practical, but looses big points on functionality.
In sum, I'm not very happy with this purchase because the quality of the product was not proportionate to its price, and I would not recommend this jacket to anyone else.
