The North Face WindStopper High Point Hat is a lightweight, fleece cap with earflaps for maximum coverage and protection in extreme cold weather. Gore WindStopper fleece is wind-resistant and insulative, so you'll be able to batten down the hatches when the weather rolls in.
Bottom Line: Protect your noggin from blustery weather.
looks goofy as. . . well it look silly!!! that being said it works great irode my scooter in 20 degrees and my head was fine. everything else was cold but my head was fine!!!
I ride at Crystal Mt, Washington and for most of the time the snow is heavy but occasionally it does get light and dry. This beanie is by far the most comfortable beanie. From temps down to 10 degrees to 45 degrees it keeps your head and ears dry and when you are hot it absorbs and maintains your sweat. I have owned tons of beanies from many different brands, this one is my favorite! Pacific Northwest is the place to ride!
I purchased the Windstopper High Point hat on the recommendation of a skiing friend. After wearing it for a week at Big Sky, I was impressed. Compared to other brands that I have had in the past, their is absolutely no itch. Plus, it does exactly what the name implies, it's a true windstopper!!
I love this little cap perfect for anything will hold you up to say 15" anything colder look at other heaver stuff Got a nice comment on this when picking up photos at walgreens.
It's true the xtra material on the top makes you look a bit like your ready to be shot out of a cannon but the function of the hat is really good and the form really isn't so bad.
The ear flaps are great for keeping the chill at bay and the draw sting helps keep it in place on windy days.
Like all of The North Face products I've owned, this hat keeps out the cold but allows your head to "breathe" too! Great for skiing at Whistler, where the climate is mild. I suspect it would work just as well in colder, Eastern climates.
hell no! dont ever buy this hat it is a ;piece of junk. if you buy it you will be so dissapointed!Decent beanie- just read the reviews people wrote. probably wouldn't fit under a helmet though.
My mother always wanted me to keep my head warm, this is the way to do it. The combination of great fit, top fabrics and design make this one of the best hats around. Windproof design makes it feel warmer and keeps your ears warm on a windy day.
Walking across campus to classes or before and after skiing, my head is always warm because of the Polartec 300 and Gore Windstopper, completely eliminating harsh winds hitting my ears. Little expensive for a "hat", but a very good hat this is. I would consider it as a technical hat, made to keep you warmer where you travel where the weather is colder. Buy it 2day from Backcountry because they have the best prices and customer service.
Simple, no fuss, real partner of a cold weather hat. Have been wearing it in wet and dry snow, sometimes breezy, and it's very easy to wear and warm. The ear flaps are nice and easily fold back when you want to hear better or if you need less warmth. Not as warm as a fur lined bomber hat, but perfectly adequate for temps not too far below zero.
The OR Peruvian hat is 2 layers of fleece with the Windstopper in the middle. The North Face Hat is Polartec 300 with a windstopper liner fabric. So the big difference is the OR hat has nice, soft fuzzy fleece next to your head.
WOW this is a great hat the best I ever put on. It fits great on everyone and is water resistant and wind proof; at least my head stayed warm and dry when I went backpacking in Colorado. If you get this hat you should most definitely get Indian clay red it is very hot.
OK... So everyone makes fun of me when I wear this because they say I look like I'm going to be shot out of a cannon. I'd agree that it's NOT the best looking hat I own. With that being said, it is the ONLY thing I can wear when I ski. It's WARM, light weight, windproof! Needless to say, I may look strange, but I don't have red ears or feel like my ears are going to freeze off. This hat will keep your ears AND head toasty through LONG days of skiing!
A great warm hat that cover your ears. It kept my head warm when camping on Mount Mitchell NC in 20F weather. I also can fit my Mountain Bike Helmet over it for cold rides. I can't wait to test it snowboarding.
I bought this hat at the beginning of winter. This hat has worked out for me really well. Ive been using it ever since I got it. From cold early morning runs to just hanging out on cold nights with friends. I even use it to keep me nice and snug on cold nights at home. The only reason I would buy another hat would be if were to lose this one. Can't wait to use it on the slopes, I know it will keep my noggin nice and toasty.
Yah, this hat is crazy warm, really comfy and looks dope! I have 3 different colors of it (Black, Brown and Red), and I get compliments on it all the time. I have convinced 8 of my friends to get the hat. It works great for any cold weather activity! I use mine for Snowboarding and causing trouble at night in my home town. Either way it works great and keeps my nugget toasty warm and comfy! Get this hat, you won't regret it!
High quality for low price! Keeps the head and ears warm regardless of weather conditions. Now, if you're looking for something to wear during that breathtaking downhill skiing, do consider throwing in some extra dollars and by a good insulated helmet. Comfort and safety hand in hand.
The North Face windstopper high point hat is the best hat I've ever owned. The windstopper material is key. I always bring my high point hat with me when I go camping, and it serves me well for skiing and snowboarding as well. It covers your ears well when it's frigid. When it's warmer you can pull the cord over the top making it more like a beanie. I've endured some serious wind chill with this hat.
