Your girl is determined to play outside, and you're resolute that she not get soaked to the bone. Give her The North Face Girls' Resolve Jacket, and you both win. The North Face made this rain jacket from its waterproof breathable HyVent fabric and lined it with wicking mesh, so she can work up a sweat and not get clammy. The Resolve's hood stashes in the collar when the sun peeks out, and zippered pockets hold snails and worms. Or her lip gloss and house key.
Bottom Line: The Resolve: A tech raincoat for girls who won't come in out of the storm.
I bought the women's xs resolve jacket before I got this jacket. I'm 5'2 and about 120lb and usually wear women's size 0 or 2. Women's xs was bigger on me and my shoulder didn't fit well. I got a girl's size L jacket and fit me so perfectly!
I purchased this coat for my 11 year old who was going on a school exchange to Portland, Oregon. It was the perfect weight and kept her dry in the damp weather there. Love the color!
A size 12 compliments either a Medium or a Large. It depends on how you want the jacket to fit. For a more snug fit a Medium is good, for a looser and longer fit the Large would be good.
So I bought the women's xs resolve jacket before I got this jacket. I'm 5'2 and about 120lb and usually wear women's size 0 or 2. Women's xs was bigger on me and my shoulder didn't fit well and those sleeves were longer on me(I have narrow shoulders and short arms). I got a girl's size L jacket and fit so perfectly! And I like this hat better than the women's one too.
This jacket is excellent in windy and rainy weather and makes a great outer layer on chillier days. It also has a very comfortable fit and looks good. I know because my whole family wore that jacket on our recent trip to Alaska. I know that we will get much use out of the jackets here too. The Resolve rain pants were also excellent.
Is this jacket the compatible shell over the denali fleece jacket? We're taking the girls skiing this season and the salesperson at the store told me I can purchase a shell that would go over the fleece jacket to keep them dry for skiing.
No, this isn't the kind of shell she was talking about. For skiing usually zip in to a shell, but not a rain jacket. Type in shells in the backcountry search bar to find one.
I bought this jacket for an upcoming trip to Seattle, but I have had plenty of rainy weather to test it out so far! I recently took it to New York City, and it was so handy because it rained the entire trip! The fit is excellent and is not bulky. I ordered the extra large girls' size instead of the adult extra small. I am 5'4" and weigh about 115 pounds. I would recommend this jacket to travelers and, because I am a teacher, teachers who have recess/outside duty like me!
This is more of a shell. There is a micro fleece collar but the rest is actually a mesh lining. Definitely not as cozy as a fully fleece lined jacket.Hope that helps.
I am 5'3" <100lbs. I have had several kids L in TNF, but on some jackets the sleeves have been too short. Body wise I can fit an xs women's TNF down zip-in under the kids waterproof jacket with room to spare. But if I went for a child's small or med the arms would be way too short.
