Tecnica Dragon 110 UltraFit Boot - Men's - 2008

The Tecnica Men’s Dragon 110 UltraFit Boot caters to skiers who want a race-bred boot without all the pain and discomfort. Featuring a high performance UltraFit liner for heat moldable comfort and fit, the Dragon 110 offers a more relaxed, upright stance and easier entry and exit than its pure-bred race boot brethren. Four micro adjustable, super-thin carbon steel buckles and an ultraflex booster strap provide a precision fit and a solid, progressive flex. This boot comes standard with a 110-flex rating, but features tow removable rivets on the rear spine, allowing for flex adjustments to suit your skiing style and individual needs. The bi-injected A.V.S. sole construction provides shock absorption and prevents slippage.

Bottom Line: The Tecnica Men’s Dragon 110 Boot gives you race-inspired performance with all day, everyday practicality.

I believe Tecnica only makes boots up to size 32. Best bet would be to go to a shop, and see if they have a bootfitter on staff. A bootfitter should be able to at the very least punch out the shell in hopes to accommodate you, or find you a size 33 boot.

Flex Index

By:
January 20, 2009

I found that the Tecnicas over rate their flex indexes, so if you're looking for a specific flex, I would suggest subtracting 10 to get a better idea of how stiff the boot is. The Dragon 120, for example, felt only a little stiffer than my Lange Fluid 100's

Has anyone tried these boots yet? I am looking for new boots

Has anyone tried these boots yet? I am looking for new boots this year and because of my high in-sole I am limited to a few brands. I really liked the Dragon 110 while at the ski shop today. I came home to read some reviews, and the Agent keeps popping up. I would consider myself an expert level all-mountain skier. I like to do deep powder, ski bumps, play in the park and launch off of anything I can find (within reason). I am looking for a responsive yet comfortable boot that will perform at an expert level. Any opinions??

If you're looking to do mostly on-piste carving and whatnots, I would suggest the Dalbello Proton 10. I have the same high instep problem, and I found that boot and the Dragons to be the only ones that fit me ideally. The protons are stiffer, cleaner, and I think a better value. If you're going to be in the backcountry, on the bumps, and in the park more often, the Agents are a great boot. They're not as stiff, so they don't transfer power as well, but they're more forgiving in rougher terrain.

my impressions

By:
December 22, 2008

Bought my new tecnica dragon 110 ultrafit yesterday and tested today on the slopes.
I am very happy about them. they have three levels of flex, and I was quite happy today with middle flex level, which is not declared, but guess was between 90 and 100.
My foot is medium-slim, and I am happy with the toebox of 100 mm of these boots.
My previous boots were quite large and skiing was not at all easy ...had to close a lot and blood circulation was difficult much better now..of course it takes a decent level of skiing to make sense to have a quite rigid boot. I think I am between advanced silver and gold.
The foam is quite comfy, and it did not require a hot forming before wearing them, at least for me..guess it will self adapt in a couple of rides. I used just a pair of thin wool socket, but maybe one can improve to something more specific..
The calf is well blocked and you can take out a small pad behind the calf muscle , or add tiny insert in the shoes...so plenty of small adjustment!
They cost around 360 E. I paid 300 euros in a closeout in France , but maybe that one can get a smarter bargain in the after x-mas sales, or on the web. Personally I prefer to stay in the shop half an hour reading something and getting out more or less sure that I will have no hassles afterwards..
