Tecnica Dragon 120 HiPerFit Boot - Men's - 2008

Borrowing from the concepts that define their competition race boots, Tecnica designed the Men’s Dragon 120 HiPerFit Boot for expert and pros skiing in all conditions. This boot features triple density plastic shell construction to give you hard, responsive zones for optimal power transfer and soft areas for ease of entry and comfort. Tecnica gave the Dragon 120 four ultra-thin carbon steel buckles that provide five times the strength of magnesium and an extremely low profile. The included ultraflex booster strap has a built in flex and rebound feature and adds progressive flex, shock absorption and rebound energy to the Dragon 120. A grippy, bi-injected A.V.S. sole design means no more slip-and-falls in parking lots.

Bottom Line: Tecnica made the Men’s Dragon 120 HiPerFit Boot stiff enough for a racer, but comfy enough for a freeskier.

Comfortable, nice

Picked these boots up in town towards the end of our ski season to push a set of BD Havoc skis down the moutain. They happened to be the only boot in my small town that fit me. I figured that was a sign. I went shopping expecting to get a 28 or 28.5 and ended up with a 27. I only got to ski two more days this season after getting the boots, but both days were great. The first day on the slopes was Showdown, Montana, after a foot of fresh stuff. I kept great control of my skis and my feet lasted from first chair to last chair with only a 15 minute lunch break. Impressive comfort for a brand new boot with a 120 flex rating. If you can afford 'em, buy 'em! Best piece of advice I ever got when getting into skiing: "Don't set a budget on ski boots. Buy the very best you can afford and you will enjoy your days on the slopes. Buy some cheap ones and you'll be hating life after a short time."

To get them molded instantly then yes you need to take them to a shop. However they will gradually mold to the shape of your foot over time by using the heat off of your foot. The choice is yours.

Tecnica Dragon 120

By:

I've just bought a pair of these, only have 1 day on them but so far they are great. All boots are different according to your foot shape, I'm a bit wide in the foot but thin in the ankle. My last pair were the Head World Cup, I had them 6 years, these are very similar, maybe a little more comfy.

How much different is this, in terms of fit, than the Tecnica Diablo 130 race boot?

The Diablo Pro 130 is a bit narrower and lower in volume (you really notice this in the forefoot area). I compared both today, and found that the Diablo Pro felt like more of a performance race-on-ice boot, while the Agent felt more comfortable. The Diablo Pro fit was fatiguing/constricting to my foot, but the Agent was just snug enough. The Diablo Pro is significantly more stiff laterally, but forward flex is comparable (within similar flex ratings).

have skid in these boots a lot this winter already and they are fantastic. Nice and stiff but comfortable enough to wear all day. TIght enough fit to really rip on east coast hard pack. Toe box is much higher than other boots ive had making them much more comfortable. Grip on the heel a great idea for walking.

Great stiff boots

By:
December 31, 2008

I had an old pair of Nordia Grand Prix's that I loved, but eventually wore out the toe and heel. I've tried on quite a few different boots but couldn't find ones that had the stiffness, but enough volume in the toe box, until I came across these. These are great boots, but warn you that they are stiff. Also, they tend to run a bit large, so you might want to try a half-Mondo-size down from your other boots.

Amazing

I love this boot. This is pretty stiff but really comfortable, I have no problem wearing this all day. I have trouble fitting boots because i have wide calves, these fit well after i took the spoiler out. I measure at a 26 but after trying them on I went down to a 25.5. Also it took about 5 days for the liner to pack out, but once it did these boots were even better. The fit is great and the flex is great from steep boiler plate to soft snow in the trees.
