Suunto X6HRM Stainless Steel Heart Rate Monitor Watch

The Suunto X6HRM Stainless Steel Heart Rate Monitor helps endurance athletes improve their training and keeps both the athlete and adventurer on track with its altimeter functions. Not only can you get readings on your altitude, barometric pressure, and compass directions, you can record those readings for later analysis on your PC. Suunto gave the X6HRM stainless steel housing so it can handle the burliest adventures you dish out. Take the X6HRM out for your 20-miler on the weekend and track your heart rate limits, time, and distance. Suunto included their new heart rate transmitter belt so you can strap it around your chest and get after it the moment this heart rate monitor arrives on your door step.

Bottom Line: Take the Suunto X6HRM Stainless Steel Heart Rate Monitor up a peak, on the road, or both.

There's a problem with water-resistant, and even swiming?

This is a good watch. Like the Suunto Observer before it, the alarm is too quiet. After that there are no negatives. I really like the memory function in the weather menu. It lets you see a long time graphic analysis of atmospheric pressure. The increased memory is good. Very good quality watch. You get what you pay for.

All the functions at twice the price!

This watch is amazing. The watch's functions are top notch- no complaints there at all, but I find the price to be higher then necessary. Aside from that the HRM works incredibly, along with the compass, altimeter and barometer. An amazing piece of equipment if you can get past the price!!

--If you're trying to get HR data on the watch while swimming, it's not going to work, because HR radio signals don't travel well through water, and you need to have the strap on your chest in order to read HRdata. There is a memory belt that reads HR and records it, then you can download that data onto your PC. If you're wondering about general water resistance, no problem!

I think the answer for swimmers is not a watch chest-strap config, but something more like a neck collar and shoulder monitor config. this way you get past the transmission problems through water. Many people seem to think the problem is with getting the strap to detect heart beats through water, but this is not the case. Just drop the watch in a cup of water when your completely dry and see how well the watch reads the transmission.
