Suunto Elastomer Strap Kit for X6HRM, G3, Observers, & X6HRT
The Suunto Elastomer Strap Kit fits any X6HRM, G3, Observers, or X6HRT watch to provide a new look or just need to replace a broken strap. Don't let a broken strap relegate your watch to your pocket, or worse, a drawer in your bedroom.
Bottom Line: Get your Suunto watch back in action by replacing the broken strap on your X6HRM, G3, Observers, or X6HRT watch with the Suunto Strap Kit.
The original strap broke after only 3 months of use. I used this strap to replace it and it didn't even last a season. They both broke at the same spot where you attach it to the watch probably due to extremely cold conditions but this should not be happening. Suunto makes a fantastic watch but they really need to do something about the crappy straps that they supply with their product.
My Observer is a bit old but I remember that the original band was like a rock. Took a long time to break it in. This new band seems just as solid but it is comfortable. Be sure to use a jeweler's screwdriver to install the band. It's a toughie because of the configuration of the watch housing.
Seems to work fine. Tried for 10 minutes, at least, couldn't put it on, had to go to a watchmaker who also spent at least 5 minutes to do it. But the problem us not with the strap but with the whole design. Can't give more than three stars not knowing how long it will last. The previous strap lasted only a little more than two years and it was a more expensive kind from Suunto directly.
I got a good deal on these Suunto replacement straps from your website. The kit is nicer than the original strap and now my son and I can enjoy our Suunto Observers again.
The strap is hard to put on the watch but it is possible to do it yourself. I don't know if it will last more than a year or two as the buckle puts a lot of stress on the strap when you adjust the watch or take it off/put it on. Hope this helps!
This is my second replacement strap for an Observer. The first replacement was a standard strap, a bit more expensive; it failed when the buckle hardware popped out and was lost in the undergrowth, the same failure I had with the original strap. This one was a bit cheaper. Installation took 10 minutes with the help of a teeny screwdriver. Unfortunately, just a few days after installation, the sliding loop that holds the end of the strap ripped, it is very soft and even the edge of the strap was enough to rip it. I think I'll have to get another original strap, even though they aren't that great either. I love this watch, but I wish that Suunto devoted more attention to strap durability.
So this guy,(anonymous2) states it is impossible to attach yourself blah blah and dslittlefield said it was difficult but he could do it and he's missing fingers! Hilarious!! Just put the strap on, my God!!
Get 2 save on shipping, soft skin diver rubber band, no break-in, finally affordable and durable Suunto replancement; best for medium/average & small wrists, but larger ok on last hole, band not extra long. Doug-AZ
The quality of the strap seems to be ok, however it is impossible to attach yourself without the proper watchmakers tools. I had to give it to a friend in the watch business and he had it fixed. Other than that I hope it lasts as long as the last one did.
