The shield works great. It fits other watches as well. Easy to clean, slightly magnifies the face and is perfect for everyday wear. You don't even notice it.

Once dirt or sand get in between the shield I believe the watch face will be scratched significantly. I had to remove one side of the watch band to mount the shield and will have to remove it again to clean between the shield and watch face.

No, these aren't designed for the X9MI. I just looked through my Suunto catalog and I couldn't find a shield for the X9MI…sorry!

I have a similiar shiled on my seiko and it does the job. Dirt or sand won't normal get between it and it does save the crystal from those accidental bumps and scratches. Go ahead and spend the money.
