Good insoles

By:
December 17, 2008

I installed these in the slightly oversized Lake MX255 mountain bike shoes I do most of my cold weather commuting in. They were about 1/32" thicker than the original insoles and made a noticeable difference in comfort below 35º.

Just a followup on my prior review. The molded heel cup made

Just a followup on my prior review. The molded heel cup made the cycling shoes feel stiffer but these insoles will not suddenly turn uninsulated shoes into winter footwear. They got me a generous 5º but I still run into problems below 25ºF. I'm still looking for some thin Thermo-lite fabric or 1/8" thick wool felt to sew up a quilted layer to go beneath them. Anybody know where to get some for a $10 or so? No craft felt please, that stuff is ubiquitous.

Not the right inserts for hiking boots

By:
June 6, 2008

I bought these for a pair of Asolo boots. I'm on my third pair of Asolos and they are a great boot. I bought these inserts to improve on the inserts that the boots come with. These inserts are too thick and raise your foot inside the boot. Because of this it causes friction in the heels and I developed blisters on both heels after only a few hours of wearing them. I definitely do not recommend them for hiking boots. Additionally I experienced the arch support for only the first couple times wearing them and then the support seemed to disappear.

Just Buy This

By:
January 11, 2008

If you haven't discovered the joys of superfeet yet, buy a pair now.
My feet are ruined from a youth spent falling off of boulder problems, and I am unable to stand barefoot for more than 10 minutes at a time.
I bought these and have never looked back, comfort and bliss for my mountaineering boots, work boots and snowboard boots.
Hell and they even outlast the boots you put them in.
